Have found this picture on another website. Don't know the year it was taken. Some of the signs are advertising England v Australia. Can only imagine that it is an advert for a cricket match at Lords or the Oval. Unless someone else knows differently. Not aware of any matches between England and Australia at the Bridge.

I think that might be England vs. Austria, played in 1932. There's a short Pathe News clip here (merci Monsieur Google), with caption and description as follows::

A near thing! Austria play sparkling football and score 3 good goals against England's 4.

Point of view shots from vehicle as it drives past one of the entrances to Stamford Bridge Stadium, home ground of Chelsea football club. Crowds are going into the stadium to watch a football match between England and Austria.

More shots of people walking towards the ground.

People walk into the ground under a big sign which reads 'Stamford Bridge Grounds'.

Kick off takes place. Various shots of the match. (Much of the footage was shot from the stand).

The teams are introduced to an unidentified VIP (not sure this is in the right order).

More scenes from the match.

Thanks Tommy for pointing out my mistake. Swear my eye-sight is getting worse.

From when we played Moscow Dynamo in 1945. Rather than it being an original colour photo it looks like a black and white picture which has been coloured in. Still, a cracking photo. People are perched on top of the old East Stand.

f**king hell, who let a woman into the ground!

I think the colouriser has got it wrong.  Chelsea would have played in blue shirts and white shorts and I know from old b/w photos the Dynamoes wore darker shorts.

Excellent pics above.......................Im going to tell a short story and would like to know if any of YOU were present...In fact its 2 stories melded........Now id like to know if you were in this situation...It was prob early to mid 70s.....We were 2 coaches that left the old supporters club based in fulham rd going to ??????......Now this isnt the famed meeting story of chelsea n leeds fans on the motorway services that most of us know about tearing up trees etc...........BUT.......This is a story of how our 2 coaches pulled into a service station....Leeds fans were playing a bit of footy on the other side of the bridge......Our young hoods ran to the top of our staircase to face the leeds men who also ran to the top of theres...We both left the very long walkway free as we taunted each other.. Both sets of fans seemingly not willing to make the first move across the bridge...Clever leeds though....They started to back away giving us false hope in moving forward...Little knowing they had a mob that crept into the side restaurant...When we were at a certain distance across the bridge they synchronised an attack from both the side restaurant and from in front of us...We tumbled down the stairs like skittles....and away with our tails between our legs......A clever leeds mob ....The 2 fellows that ran the coaches placed a ban on some of us ever travelling on those precious coaches again......This was rescinded , for me anyway , on the return journey after much and many apologies ang groveling...This brings me to story part 2...the younger of the 2 guys that ran these coaches ( the one who always had a briefcase with him or shoulder bag) i was honoured to bump into in fulham rd against spuds 2 seasons ago.....I saw him strolling the broadway and approached him to shake his hand..40 plus years later he recognised me which was great..we exchanged pleasantries, and i felt glad he was still with us and still an active Blue......The only thing that was sad is that even though id guess he should be in his 70s, he had his full head of hair and looked younger than my 58 years..................Actually saw him near BIG BOBS stall....Now some of you will know BIG BOB...For those who dont, BIG BOB Is and was a true Blue whom i met early 70s for home and away matches....He runs the stall that sells chelsea paraphenalia on the first corner on the left as you exit FBS....he ll tell some of you a few stories of our real glory days

Used to live near him in Benfleet, back in 1978. Always stop and have a chat with him & his sons who help him on the stall, when i go to a game.

Was in the Benfleet Anchor with him, on the night he fronted AS from the ICF.

Few years b4 my time, mike, but I've heard it many times, can't believe you fell for that one, live and learn, sunshine.

Im wetting my pants with excitement at all the stuff from the past jumbling round my brain....I need to eat a spurs fan....F@@@ me roll on december....OR someone develop a way of time transport......I know exactly where ill disappear to.......

I've got a new scanner which enables me to turn negatives into jpegs, I'll put a few up whenever I can.

A word of warning to the scumbag from Middlesborough, the moment I see one on ebay or online my lawyer will be in contact.  You have been warned.

Bob knew loads of 'faces'. In 1979 we took our 'other halves at that time' to Newquay for a week. 1st night en route to 'The Jolly Sailors' pub, we turned a corner and there were a few 'lumps' walking by. Turned out they were 'Chels' and he knew them all!.

I'm pretty certain I was there that day mate. We used to use the Supporters Club coaches because they were so cheap and we were all still at school then, another reason was that we could get on board at their depot in Mitcham and get the back seat before it set off for the Bridge. I think it was Oldham that day in our first second division season and I remember the older, and more respectable lot herding everyone back on to the coaches to avoid any further trouble, I think it was the same day that Greenaway's coach had a social gathering with Leeds at a different service station.

^77-78 CB?. Couple of red white and green scarfs. That yellow one looks to much like Spurs or Leeds.

It was our yelow shirt green shorts away kit, Duncan McKenzie era, 78/79?

We had the yellow and blue away kit in 77-78 PB my favourite away kit ever. The yellow and blue scarf bottom right i don't remember them at the Bridge but my brother who is a spud had one.

Apologies if this has been posted before. First goal Ossie vs Derby

I was in the Shed that day cannot remember seeing it since. Not quite as I remember it but still class.
