I remember John Hollins putting a penalty almost onto the district line behind the North Stand (and a lot of fighting).

I was in the North Stand that day (big surprise), and for a lot of us it was payback time for what went on at the cup game at Hillsborough in the 72/73 season. Wednesday got truly battered that day, and what's more, they deserved it.

We met a coach load of Wimbledon on their way home from Leeds and were amazed at their result that day. Also went to the replay of that one at Selhurst and Wimbledon played well that night.

I'd always thought that this was the same season that Tooting and Mitcham knocked Swindon out in a replay at Sandy Lane, another one of those games when loads of us went from school, and watched the local Chelsea scrapping with our country cousins on Figges Marsh after the game, gonna have to find out when that was now.

I was at that replay at Selhurst, Wimbledon were unlucky to lose. Great entertainment after the game with Chelsea & Millwall battering the crap out of Leeds - good memories!

I was also at the Tooting & Mitcham v Swindon game, the Swindon fans got a bit of a surprise that day .

The 1974/75 game between Tooting & Mitcham and Crystal Palace was a lot better, we battered Palace in the ground and gave them a severe good hiding on Figges Marsh and in the local cemetary afterwards. This game was played on an afternoon in midweek due to the three-day week (no electricity at night), and it seemed like the whole of Mitcham showed up to kick f*ck out of the Palace - what a great day that was!

Thankyou so much for the games too watch. Your a true blue. Do you have many games from the 1960's era? I have some games on DVD from the 60s and 70s. Some from the 70s are 1971-72 coventry city home 1972-3 Brighton, Ipswich town and Sheff Wed away in FAC. Great too watch osgood and co again.

A great ten minutes from the Boxing Day game against Blackpool in 1964. Including the world's first EVER ever TV footage from a half-time dressing room (Chelsea's)

Comments on clip:

Attendance 30,500

Gate Receipts £6 500

Avergage cost of ground entrance = 4s3d (Four shillings and a thruppenny bit)

If ground admission prices had followed the national rate of inflation the average cost of going to Stamford Bridge today would be £3.47

Players Wages - ca £40/week. With win and goal bonus up to £80

The average weekly wage was £16 a week

A university graduate with a few years at work was on about £50

A City banker well into a career was on about £100 a week

According to http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/bills/article-1633409/Historic-inflation-calculator-value-money-changed-1900.html

£40 in 1964 is worth £660 in 2012.

Some great clips there, bringing back lots of good memories - many thanks!

I just watched that 1964 Blackpool clip - John Hollins only looks about 12! I loved that kit, one of our best.

Thanks for the Vids Eddie Mac, you deserve a new car. BB Sheffield W away in the FA cup brings back some memories.

Good to see you back mate, don't be a stranger.

Keep on posting lads, with today's result we need this to remind us of the good times.

Dunno about the good times mate but today's performance reminded me very much of 78/9 and 82/3, and given the quality of player available then and now today must rank as one of the worst Chelsea performances I've ever seen.

Anyone interested in old pictures try WWW.MIRROPIX.COM . Just type in chelsea (followed by the year) ie 1975 and you will get lots of pictures. The pictures will show the mirrorpix logo.

1969-70

Let have some of the good times

Nice one! I only had the (grainy) highlights of this game so this is great. I was stood in the Park Lane with my mate, can still remember Webby scoring after about 2 minutes right in front of us. Great day, great team - Dave Sexton has a lot to answer for after breaking that side up.

Just in case you didn't watch the Moan Utd game from 34 years ago today, 2-2 11th Feb 1978 - Brian Moore explains in the first 2 minutes that Utd's team cost £2 000 000 and Chelsea cost £2 000.

In today's money Chelsea cost £9,800 and Moan U £9,800,000

That game shows how much the game has changed. I really enjoyed it.

Have to confess that 2 of my non Chelsea fav players were Stuart Pearson and Gordon Hill ! Yikes :blush2:

Thanks for the video of the stoke city game. I just about remember the ossie goal. I hear that Bobby Tambling has been unwell. Hope he gets well very soon. So underrated.
