It's a 985 page, 12 year thread, many pictures are posted multiple times. It's all good.

Very true. For me the best thread on this forum. The history and Rangers threads run close but then I am biased. WATP.

Not necessarily Chelsea vintage although I suspect Stamford Bridge will be mentioned but a talk about London Stadiums hosted by the London Metropolitan Archives. The speaker is Simon Inglis who has written extensively about football grounds. I'll be going along. Should be interesting as like a few on here am interested in history as well as football.

Preston in the FA Cup 4th Round in Jan 1969.

We played them in the replay at the Bridge, the lights failed when we were 2 up and the game abandoned.

It was played at 2pm a few days later , we were a goal down but scored 2 very very late goals to win 2-1

Fans on the tube wouldn't believe us when we said we had won !

I'd love to go to that,  but I can't unfortunately.

Be interesting to hear what you have to say about it Boyne

Yeah just checked the details of the Monday afternoon replay.

David Webb equalising in the 89th min and Charlie Cooke scoring the winner a minute or so later!

An official attendance given of 36,522, not bad at all for a Monday afternoon game!

@The Rising Sun will let you know what is said. The London stadiums have changed a lot of the years. Will be interesting if the speaker has anything to say on the development of the Bridge if that ever goes ahead!
