The Cup Quater Final v them from N17 in 1982.  On the pitch our star moment was Fillery’s free kick, the rest of it was c**p, some rubbish goalkeeping  from Francis didn’t help.  Off the pitch the agenda was set by Bates’ message on the front cover of the programme warning against crowd trouble - guess what, it was happening before, during and after; memory serves that there was a major set to with a bunch of Spuds who walked in from Earls Court.

Hadn’t realised it was the Cup Quarter Final v them in 1982.

Back in the day,  us and Fulham played on alternate Saturdays.

But we both played at home on FA cup day in 1968.

We kicked off early and after we finished a load of us walked over to Craven Cottage to see their game v Macclesfield.

For the life of me I couldn't remember who we played but remembered who Fulham played because we were chanting " Chelsea and Macclesfield" for some reason, probably to wind Fulham up . I've just looked it up and we played Ipswich and ko at 11am .  A few hundred of us marched over there , i can't imagine doing that now,  im exhausted just watching us play these days. 🤣

The programme cover I mentioned earlier - the programmes sold out on the basis of the front cover and became a collectors item.

Thanks for this. I had forgotten that I went to this specific game but it must have been this match as I had the programme for a number of years actually.  I remember this programme.

Away at Luton in 85, a 1-1 draw, King Kerry scored a belter for us.  This 3rd Le Coq shirt never did it for me - mind you following the 83-85 shirt was always going to be impossible, the shorts were a perverts delight and, for me, its white sox all the way except when we have to change.  I’ve always liked the yellow trim on blue shirts and shorts - as at the Old Trafford replay in 1970 and v Stoke in the League Cup final in 1972.
