De Rode Duivels staan 1-0 voor wanneer Van Buyten een voorzet zomaar over zich heen laat vliegen. Berbatov neemt het geschenk in dank aan.

België mist de start van de WK-voorronde volledig door een fout van Van Buyten. Hij kopt een voorzet in de voeten van Jankauskas. De spits hoeft de bal maar voorbij Peersman te trappen.

Van Buyten gaat net als tegen Kroatië twee keer in de fout. De verdediger laat Torres twee keer in drie minuten makkelijk weglopen: 2-0.

* 15/11/06, België - Polen 0-1

De Polen versturen een diepe bal. Van Buyten heeft tijd genoeg, maar slaagt er toch in het leer nog te verspelen. Matusiak pakt de bal simpel af en mag alleen richting doel lopen.

De niet al te wendbare Jan Koller maakt zich zonder moeite los van Van Buyten. De Tsjech devieert de 0-1 in doel.

Van Buyten speelt de bal zomaar in bij Moutinho. Die kan de tegenaanval opzetten en biedt Nuno Gomes een simpel doelpunt aan.

Van Buyten verdedigt zoals zo vaak bij de nationale ploeg te laks. Zenjov krijgt veel te veel ruimte van de verdediger en kan makkelijk scoren.

Without el clasico in between both legs, where both Barca and Real had to be at full-strength, it's very possible Real and Barca would have gone through. I'm happy it's Bayern because I didn't fancy facing Jose, and Real have a scary amount of firepower, however Bayern are really good and will be at home, so it's tough. It's bloody tough. Thankfully they have three players suspended, although we have four, and Rambo, Terry and Ivan are three of our best players.

Edit: In the absence of Rambo, got a feeling Torres will start on the right.

In another thread, someone mentioned van Buyten, who might be back from injury to play in the CL final. I hope not, as he is a very good, strong defender, who matches up well against Drogba.

Luiz Gustavo is their top Holding midfielder, Tymoshchuk is their back up whos is old and not that good.

Same goes with Badstuber, he is their top defender and his replacement is van Buyten who in my opinion is as bad as it gets

Alaba is also the first choice left back, meaning lahm will switch to left back as he was playing there for many years and rafinha will play right back

It was an incredible coincidence the way it worked out. That that game should fall on the date it did, with both of them in separate semi-finals, and both of them vying for the title. The fact that Barca lost also worked in our favour, and the fact our game was on the Tuesday, giving them a day's less rest. It was a very intense el clasico, as they all are, and I'm very happy it took place when it did. I bet Bayern are too.

Robbie should be sitting Drogba down and making him watch his Moscow sending off clockwork orange style until matchday.

We are weaker on paper with crippling suspensions but the pain of that match particularly for Drogba gives me hope that with one last chance, such is the mentality of some of our guys that we might get a win.
