Captain Frank Lampard Champs League Final

Featured Replies

How he organised the guard of honour at the end for the Bayern players and embraced Schweinsteiger at the end was extremely dignified of him. The Bayern players and fans were very grateful for it. Model professional till the end and a dignified winner. Hats of to you Frank. You made the club proud last night.

Super captain's performance from Frank. Kudos to Drogba as well, who took time to console both Robben and Schweinsteiger after the match was over.

Premier League - check

FA Cup - check

Carling Cup - check

Champions League - check.

Only the greatest win everything and Frank certainly is that.

Don't forget Community Shield and Asia Cup! :happy001:

Hopefully he can make the collection complete by getting a UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup winner's medal as well.

A fantastic read...

Indeed. Although I think that Mr. Winter got this part (slightly) wrong:

"...Schweinsteiger, whose spot-kick at Real Madrid had guided Bayern to the final, stepped up. He hit the post..."

I'm pretty sure that Cech got a hand to the ball just enough to divert it towards the post. I think it would've gone in without Big Pete.

Yes, I think that's true - and I'm sure the commentator mentioned it too.. I watched it three times - once in real time, then again in Highlights then again on ITV1 + 1 highlights, so I should have remembered that!

..but I'm quite old and I forget things sometimes...

I genuinely think the role that Lampard has filled recently, being a slightly deeper ball playing midfielder than the box-to-box midfielder were used too will give him another 2-3 years at the top

It's what a lot of us have been saying, that he can become our scholes/giggs player

True Legend up there with the greats of the past for me now

And to think some posters on here a few months ago were demanding he be phased out or sat on the bench, feel silly now do we ?

Let's be realistic, General. As a 33-34 year old, it only makes sense that Lamps plays 2 out of every 3 games, or something like that; otherwise, he will be a wreck by the end of the season. I also expect him to be subbed out of many games that he starts, to lessen the wear-and-tear on him.

My favourite Chelsea player along with Franco, model pro, one of the greatest midfielders of the past decade and with the CV to prove it.

Just come across this picture, look at his emotion - he felt it like we did.

These were my thoughts throughout the celebrations, man if we feel like this how the hell do the players feel, I bet it can't even compare with those like Frank. Thank you and congrats Super Frankie Lampard!
