July 26, 201411 yr In Bamford we trust? Lol. Bamford is happy to try and improve himself. He has risen to all the challenges he has been set so far. Time will tell if he is good enough but one thing he has in abundance over Lukaku is a good attitude.
July 26, 201411 yr Blue, How many of these young guns have you seen with Chelsea over the years? I'm sure it won't be Bamford. Perhaps, you know something about it?
July 26, 201411 yr Is that £25m or euro? I'd take it if it was £ , but if it's Euro doesn't that work out around £19m? Not enough.

I have no inside info, if that's what you mean, Sage. But I live in hope that for once we give someone like Bamford, who is eager to prove himself, the chance to do exactly that. It's a shame that it's at the expense of Lukaku, but obviously Jose knows something we don't about his attitude.
July 26, 201411 yr Blue, I also would like to see some of these guys getting a chance to play. However, in your honest opinion, can Chelsea play with Costa, hide & seek Torres & an old man Drogba & a raw Bramford?

Blue, I also would like to see some of these guys getting a chance to play. However, in your honest opinion, can Chelsea play with Costa, hide & seek Torres & an old man Drogba & a raw Bramford? If we are serious about going for every trophy, no. But our summer spending is over, apparently, remember?
July 26, 201411 yr If we are getting rid of Lukaku then Jose is not as "Special" as his nickname makes him out to be.I'm really hoping this is just Twitterverse bullsh*t again.
July 26, 201411 yr If he goes, I hope we replace him. Don't think we are much better off than last season in the striking department. Edit: I would love bony to be his replacement, and get rid of Fernando. Costa/bony/drogba would be powerful and technical. Edited July 26, 201411 yr by big blue
July 26, 201411 yr Big, See Chelsea's players. The only ugly guy there, but very useful on the pitch.
July 26, 201411 yr Big, See Chelsea's players. The only ugly guy there, but very useful on the pitch. I'm pulling your leg! I just think if we want to challenge for major trophies, we should have 2 good strikers the right side of 30. Drogba got 1 in 5 for us, in his last season. I'm not convinced he will do any better at his age. Then we've torres who has never scored 10 league goals for us. So the responsibility falls squarely on diego costa, who could deliver, but the jury is still out on him, and he has got to adapt to a new league and culture. I if Lukaku wants to go, then fair enough sell him. But I do think we need another striker, capable of being the main man for a large stretch of the season, in the event costa gets injured/banned/doesn't perform. Drogba will be a good impact player, but can he play 2 90 mins in a week at a level required to win the big trophies? I don't think so. We need an anelka type signing imo.
July 26, 201411 yr If we are getting rid of Lukaku then Jose is not as "Special" as his nickname makes him out to be Why? Do you know something he doesn't then ?
July 26, 201411 yr Big, I read you. I mean, it's obvious the team needs someone if Lukaku goes. However, I just don't feel Bramford is ready, Drogba cannot play more than 45 minutes every other game & Torres is not scoring. Now, you tell me why not try to keep Lukaku & give him his last chance? I mean, if he turns out sh*tty, Jose can move him out in January.
July 26, 201411 yr You're argument is based on the belief that Chelsea are trying to force Romelu out of the club, which I believe is definitely not the case. If Lukaku leaves this summer then we shouldn't be under any illusion on who it was that made the move. I think that if he wants to stay, work hard and fight for his place then good for him. We all know that Torres cannot hit a cows arse with a banjo and Drogba won't last every minute. So all Romelu has ahead of him is Diego Costa who is an unknown quantity in the Premier League (even though I'm convinced that he'll be a great signing). If Romelu doesn't like the sound of that then he knows where the door is and I hope we get good money for him. His endless ranting into the press has got on my nerves and I've lost any kind of loyalty to the guy. He has two years left on his contract and I believe that if he stays, listens to Drogba, listens to Mourinho, gets his head down and work hard he'll have every success at Chelsea. Or he can take the easy option and leave to a mid-table club where he can be the big fish in the small pond. It's Romelu's choice, let's see what he makes.
July 26, 201411 yr Hope we keep Lukaku at Stamford Bridge as a back-up for Costa. Still think he's got a great future and I think we make a big mistake by selling him. He possesses everything you need as a Chelsea-striker. The only problem is his way of speaking with the media and his relationship with Mourinho, but if Mourinho can heal his understanding with Fabregas within 15 minutes, why would it not work with Lukaku?
July 26, 201411 yr If Lukaku Do leaves us.! It's not because of "Drogba Or Mourinho" It's coz of Torres and his prize tag and wagges!! To many good players and mangers have been moved on because of fernando's prize Tag. Lukaku will always play second fiddle to A 50 Million pound "FLOP" --------- One more thing "Lukaku" Has been sent out on loan twice scoring 32 goals in the Premier League. That’s 12 more than Fernando Torres has managed since signing for £50 million in January 2011. So it begs the question as to Why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
July 26, 201411 yr if it is true, what do we do with the extra 25 mil? Maybe an extra striker, although I think Costa, Torres and Drogba is enough.

I am not saying he us being forced out of the club. Its doesnt matter in the slightest whose decision it is. I am saying we need to bring in someone to replace him, as I don't think a strike force of costa/drogba/torres is strong enough. In an ideal world torres wouldn't be here and we wouldnt have to list him as an option, as in actual fact, he's a none entity.

Can't we just plop Torres in the reserves so we won't have to see his sorry butt for the rest of his contract, and then cut him loose?

I don't know much of what goes on behind the scenes and I'm sure that would be the best thing to do but there must be an accounting/political reason why a £50m player on his wages must play if he's still with us when the season starts.
