July 23, 201411 yr Fgs, he needs to stop getting his knickers in a twist, man up an fight for a place in the side! Needs to accept the fact he isn't the number 1 choice and he won't be the number one choice unless he works for it. He can either accept that and fight for a place at one of the best clubs in the world or he can go elsewhere and play for a mid-table team.
July 23, 201411 yr Been training this week with Anderlecht. Obviously keen to get his fitness up before the new season by training before he's due to report back. Never a bad sign.

July 23, 201411 yr And he will next week, he isn't due to report back yet as he's officially on holiday.
July 23, 201411 yr And he will next week, he isn't due to report back yet as he's officially on holiday. Can't for the life of me understand how chelsea would be happy about a contracted player training with another team with no visibility over training methods, risk of injury, even down to the granularity of training surfaces. Absolutely bizarre. Only ever heard of this when MLS players train with PL clubs during the off season. Mind boggling.
July 23, 201411 yr Well, most likely Lukaku is trying to make himself ready for Chelsea? Thanks for clarifying, peter. Kind regards

Absolutely bizarre. Only ever heard of this when MLS players train with PL clubs during the off season. Mind boggling. A lot of players do it, not necessarily with another club. Bamford for example undertook an intense 4 week fitness course at his local gym and I know other players do some running work etc in the build up to re-joining their teams to try to give them a bit of a head start. I think you're being a bit harsh on Lukaku with your comments when the chances are he's only participating in light exercises with his childhood club whilst back home with his family.

If, as logic would dictate, it has been pre agreed with cfc and is limited to light training / gym then fine.. Fair dos. If not then I find it bizarre. What would happen if he was taking part in full training sessions and got injured? A poor challenge in a training session for example. Speaking hypothetically of course, but that would be tantamount to a complete disaster.
July 23, 201411 yr Lukaku's still on holiday so that training could be him trying to stay fit. Good sign if he is staying that he's ready for a fight.
July 24, 201411 yr Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, 21, has moved a step closer to leaving the Stamford Bridge club by training with former club Anderlecht. (The Sun)
July 24, 201411 yr The funny thing is, The Sun wouldn't have even known that had Lukaku not put it up on his Twitter account. As I said yesterday to me it just signals he's getting an early start on his fitness whilst back home on holiday preparing to report back for pre-season.
July 24, 201411 yr Good news he's training with Anderlecht. his old team, I think his brother Jordan plays there aswell? hope he comes back fighting
July 24, 201411 yr Caught in an Anderlect shirt yesterday and training with them. Bamford and Omeruo both express they are Chelsea players all the time and are on loan to develop for their own benefit. Lukaku beggars belief to be honest. Never in football have I known a player to believe so much in his own hype. He may develop into a top forward one day but the bloke has more to learn than he thinks. Since he started banging in a few for Everton things have gone to his head and he couldn't give a toss about Chelsea Football Club. As much as I would like the kid to bide his time and learn from Costa and Drogbs I feel his career will nosedive once he completes a move away. He had the world at his feet a year ago at Chelsea and he has thrown it all away because of his arrogant attitude and upset Jose along the way. He hardly played in the World Cup yet was training at his old club yesterday. A player keen to impress the Manager and Club and it's fans would have requested a plane to Austria to help fight for his place in the Chelsea side. Not him, he thinks he can control his own destiny without thought for who pays his wages and has his interests at heart. Never have I despised a Chelsea player more than Lukaku.

Totally agree with the assertion that he could have got on a plane and come back to train early with CHELSEA, the team paying his wages. If he is so keen to get fit, why not do it in front of the manager who is going to be choosing you to play in the first team?!. I remember mourinho commenting on joe cole during his first spell in charge, heaping praise on him for turning up to pre season training early to put in an extra shift. Doesn't sit well with me I'm afraid, just think it's another attempt by lukaku to wiggle his way out of a club where he isn't automatic first choice. Want him to stay, but if he leaves then so be it. Nobody is bigger than the club.

But he's still technically on holiday following World Cup duty, he's back home in Belgium no doubt spending some time with his family but in an effort to maintain his fitness he's done some training with his boyhood club. I really don't understand why fans are taking issue with this, it's not like he's trying to engineer a move back to Anderlecht is it. If he had returned to Chelsea he would be giving up the time he has with his family and given he plays in a foreign country he probably doesn't get to see them all that much as it is.
July 24, 201411 yr Add this to his comments all season long and his public spat with mourinho and it would seem that he is trying to engineer a move away from the club. He sees competition and he sh*tes himself. Wish he'd f**king man up and stop courting controversy If i went and did some clandestine training with another investment bank i would get sacked. And before anyone says "that's completely different".. I beg to differ. If you're employed by someone and you value your employment you should show some f**king respect. Saying it's ok for a footballer to be exempt from such principles is the fundamental root cause of the modern day footballer's attitude and the prevalence of egos within the game. It's what has spoiled the true core of the sport and has only served to elevate these blokes to a level whereby they feel that their word or actions should be taken as gospel. Player power is a f**king cancer and IF, And I repeat IF chelsea didn't know about this or authorise it then he should be hung out to f**king dry. One can only assume he has indeed received appropriate clearance to do so. Anything less would be a slap in the face. Edited July 24, 201411 yr by CFC_RFC_TID!
July 24, 201411 yr Him training at Anderlech can really be read one or two ways. Either he is showing the finger to us or he is just spending time with his family and training with his boyhood club. No one knows which it is. He needs to come back to Chelsea when the World Club players extra holiday is over if he is not sold before that... But either way he is not handling himself very well in the public.
July 24, 201411 yr Wow, I really don't get some of the hate on here for Lukaku. Give the kid a break.
July 24, 201411 yr Wow, I really don't get some of the hate on here for Lukaku. Give the kid a break. The overreaction really has been insane.
July 24, 201411 yr I dont like some of the things being attributed to him, but surely theres nothing wrong with him training with his home team before he`s due back with us, if anything its nice to see.
July 24, 201411 yr That post made me do a quick search and his name has been spelled on this site as Lukaka, Lukuku, Lukalu, Lakuku, Lakaku and finally Lukaki.
