Posted March 15, 201312 yr Spurs. Let's just get them out of this competition, couldn't stomach them winning anything, let alone this, and going on to compete in the Super Cup.
March 15, 201312 yr I was gonna say anyone but Spuds, would rather they just get the hardest draws possible and hopefully someone else knocks them out, because i'm not entirely confident we would beat them. If I had to order my preferences Basel Newcastle Benfica Rubin Fenerbahce Lazio Spuds Really any of those top 4 i'd be happy with provided we don't have our away leg in that week where we play 4 games in 8 days. I think Spuds and Lazio are the teams to beat and would be delighted if they got drawn together, and I don't really fancy a trip to Turkey as it's always an incredibly difficult and intimidating place to go to. That being said I also don't fancy a trip to Rubin who knocked Atletico out and who are even more east than Moscow. A trip to Rubin or Turkey in that 4 games in 8 days period would be brutal. So yeah, any of those top 3 will do me.
March 15, 201312 yr Basel Rubin Lazio would be fine for me... Think it is important that spurs also has to play european as long as possible for tiering them out aswell. If they'd only have to focus on the PL it could get a tough run...
March 15, 201312 yr I have said spurs..( but ) i must say i fear them at the moment......They are arguably on form, the top team in that last bunch...I feel they are the only ones to really bother us.....This could well be our trophy....
March 15, 201312 yr I don't care who we get. I just want to win this thing (while maintaining 4th or better in the league obviously). Bring them on.
March 15, 201312 yr OH goodness......How easy for HAZARD MATA n co is that...OH ...I thought you were telling me we got BENFICA...My bad Edited March 15, 201312 yr by Mike Carefree
March 15, 201312 yr Regardless who we get, pray we get a home first leg, because we have a game on the Saturday (Southampton), Monday (United), Thursday (Europa) and Sunday (Sunderland), 4 games in 8 days. If we have to go away to Turkey or Russia in that period, lol.
March 15, 201312 yr None of them are easy but I'd go for Basel. Newcastle would be my next choice but they'd be well up for it.
March 15, 201312 yr Rubin Kazan - I really hope this is building up to a European faceoff against Tottenham
March 15, 201312 yr Chelsea, Spuds and Lazio all getting good draws, it's going to be a tough semi-final draw.
March 15, 201312 yr We're not f**king around with the away trips this season... Dare I mention we play Spuds at home less than 3 days after our away tie.
March 15, 201312 yr They won the league a couple of seasons ago as I recall, I also seem to remember Martins playing for them. They have Salomon Rondon, M'Vila and our very own Gokhan Tore on their books. I would imagine they will be the best side we have faced so far in the Europa League and we're certainly going to need a convincing home leg victory to go through.
