Europa League final stories

Featured Replies

Just arrived home after a great couple of days in the Dam,

if you were in Amsterdam - share your stories and if you weren't in Amsterdam where were you watching and where did you celebrate?

Spent much of yesterday in the bar Oporto just off the Damtrack. It was bouncing.

Excellent few days, didn't see any of the trouble that's been reported.

Some cracking Tories in the red light district. "One Harold Bishop"

Just like the Champions League final last year, I didn't make it on time to see the kick off, because I was stuck at work. This year I missed the first 30 minutes, but I watched it at the same pub where I watched the Champions League final. Weird fact, but these two European finals are the only matches I've ever watched at that pub. Last year it was the first pub that I could find that showed the match and wasn't so packed with people that I could actually get in. This year I went there because you could get food at that pub and I was hungry as hell after a long day at work. Most people in the pub seemed to be Benfica fans or just anti Chelsea, but I didn't care. The beer was tasty and we won, so... :bananapowerslide:

Couldn't go to amerstdam and normally for a final i'll travel from Plymouth to watch it near stamford bridge but had to settle for a pub here and there were a few Chels so good atmosphere still.

Can safely say Amsterdam got the better of me and not for the first time.

Amazing place, Was quality having so many chelsea around the town, Ive only been for the friendlies before so dont normally see many.

Was quality

I was craving for the "trip to munich"-like topic!
Didn't made to Dam just like last year cause I'm skint, 6 lads from Chelsea Italia were there.
I watched it in the same pub of 2012...with the same clothes on. I'm not normal
Absolutely love the late win, easy final wouldn't be Chelsea

Didn't get to Amsterdam sadly (already booked a big holiday for September and I have a stag in Majorca at end of the month), if I lived in England I would have done that Dover > Dunkirk > Amsterdam trek though as it sounded good!

Last year I watched the final in a supporters bar in Belfast and got sloshed. This year I didn't have one beer, watched it in the house... a few mates came round and we took it very easy.

I knew it was a special night, upon going to bed with a big smile on my face I wished I had drank a few cold ones!

Maybe next time ;)

I watched the game at home with my best mate (a Chelsea fan) and a Welshman (Cardiff supporter), knocking back cans of wifebeater like they were going out of fashion. We all went mental when Ivan scored, needless to say!

I would loved to have gone to the Dam but i''m not made of money...

I watched it with around 50 lads from the supportters club when the game was over I put on loads of chelsea songs on the juke box as I usually do. Typically a Liverpool fan came down stared at me and then thought he was great and tryed to put on you'll never walk alone i just plugged out the jukebox and told him to f**k off. The sh*t I have to deal with is unreal from plastic scousers

Drove to dam from blighty, ticketless. Spent most of the day in dam square which was rocking. Sun out, chels in full voice.

I wanna thank the 2 chelsea fans that sorted me 2 tickets out at face value. It appears we are not all money grabbers.

Ground was rocking , atmosphere fantastic. After party amazing. Only a 7 hour drive home put a slight damper on things.

did you get the boat from Dover?

How much was it?

I flew to Amsterdam from Edinburgh, i already had tickets for the game but payed a fair bit for them to sit in the Chelsea end which was worth it in the end. The atmosphere in the city centre was brilliant with tons of chelsea fans in full voice all over the place.

Like a few others have said, i never witnessed any of the crowd trouble that was said to have happened which was a bonus.

All in it was one of the best games i've been to with a wonderful atmosphere. I'd say its up there with munich and winning the league by thrashing wigan 8 nil.

My girl chelsea..My boy Sam...Sams better half Hayley..Myself and half a dozen Blues watched it in clacton in the PLOUGH pub round the corner from my girls home.....My girl and i ended having a smashing curry afterwards ...A very good evening indeed...

Like Munich I got the Coach over to the Dam and the journey certainly wasn't as bad as the 18 hours it took to get to Munich.

On the piss all day, atmosphere was fantastic with Blues all over the city in full voice.

Inside the stadium was superb and Brana's goal was superb and saved us the agony of ET and penalties thank god, Torres finish was awesome.

It was my first visit to Amsterdam and I thought it was a great city.

Winning makes the journey home so much more tolerable!

Come on you Blues!

Went over on the night ferry from Harwich on tuesday, had a great singalong lots of good lads on board. The afternoon in the dam was great fun, lovely weather great singing and one of the highlights was watching some chelsea lads sort out some liverpool and throwing their flag in the canal. What a great couple of days glad i managed to go.

Up at 3 am, 4 of us on the 06,50am Channel Tunnel train from Folkstone, which was packed with CFC. Arrived in Amsterdam centre 12.30 (their time), after stopping in  Belgium (Adinkerke) for cheap fags etc. Fortunate enough to find a parking space, checked in at Hotel, then to the bars.

Wandered up to Rembrandt Square around 4 pm, fairly quiet, then went to main square (Euro Bar etc) where many fans were enjoying themselves. Caught train from Amsterdam central and another couple of beers in the bar outside the ground. Benfica fans were friendly (the ones we met), and handshakes, photos taken etc.

Left the Arena at 11.25 pm, and were directed to another station, about 15-20 min walk. Got back to Amsterdam central 12.25am, found a bar which kicked us out at 01.15am.

Up at 05.45am (that was a struggle) for drive back to Calais in pouring rain (until we got into France), to catch 11.50 am train back to Folkstone. Still on a high, i expect fatigue to kick in tomorrow. Well worth it though, until the next adventure........

10pm ferry tues to Dunkirk, hotel in de panne Belgium, then drove to Amsterdam for 2pm...then 5 hrs beer, sun, trying to get cheap lap dance for me boy and my step son....but no deal, then metro and some great singing against the benfica fans nomprobs but good fun

Then the fanzone for some crap beer

Then the game....till the very end, drive back to hotel ner Utrecht, up at 7 and drive into massive jam in Belgium.....eventually back to ws6 for about 5pm

Great trip, if Munich was 10 out of 10, then Amsterdam is 9

I drove there from Slovenia with few other Chels. Left Slovenia at 6pm on tuesday, arrived in Dam on Wed at around 9 am.  Went to sleep for few hours and then we went to this Euro bar on Dam square but beer was fecking expensive( 8 euros pint). We decided to go to the red light and we found a perfect pub there(Trinity bar). A lot of chels there, lovely atmosphere all day. We saw the match there as well on screen.

Thanks god the weather was all right, on thursday it was piss poor all day

Left Dam at 12.15pm,drove back to Calais via Gent for grub.Stuck on motorway for over 2 hrs near Lille then got within 10 mins of the eurotunnel and motorway shut again.Another hour and a half crawling thru detour route in suburbs of Calais with every truck from europe eventually getting back in to England at gone midnight and home at 1.30 am.

13 hours in the motor but did it matter?

Of course not.Maybe we should apply for planning permission to turn No heart Lane in to our enlarged trophy room.
