Would be great if Eidur and Icelandic team qualified for next year's World Cup. A great player. Playing in the World Cup would be a great reward for all his work over the years. One of all my all time favourite players. His partnership with Jimmy was brilliant. Here's a reminder of one of his best goals.

Great achievement for Lars Lagerback.

Massive Eidur fan - he was one of my favourite players - so clever and skillful and he loved Chelsea. I remember how tearful he got after the Utd game when we won the PL but he knew he would be leaving.

 

But I must admit, I didn't think he was still playing?

He was my one of my favourite Chelsea players when he was at the club and I loved his "ta-da" celebration whenever he scored.

 

I was gutted when he left. 

 

Fantastic player, and a great guy as well. Still love watching reruns of games when he was here. I think he did go off the boil and and lost some of his drive, but at his best he was a joy to watch.

I had tears in my eyes watching that. Probably my favorite player when he was here. Even disliked Essien at first because he took Eidur's place.

Such a great player. Says multitudes for him that he kept his place for three seasons despite the massive influx of high price, high quality players who came in. 

Also to add to that we have always been poorer as a team since he left for never replacing him with another proper flexible striker capable of leading the line or playing deeper in midfield with another striker up top. 

Great player for chelsea, I always loved Guddy's simple goal celebration.
