Yesterday was by some way the best performance under Jose yet. And with every passing game we look more and more like a team that is playing with a style and a mentality that Jose is instilling with in us. He is doing what he does and making good players feel like great players.

 

Last night had me thinking about the best games I have seen with Jose in charge, it's a pretty decent list.

 

Liverpool Away 1-4 - The drogba destruction of the scouers.

 

Munich at home 4-2 and an amazing Lampard goal

 

Barcelona at home 4-2 Don't need to say anything here do I?

 

of course Bolton away - first title.

 

I'm sure there are loads more.

Wow I'd say last nights was the best performance so far of the new era.

To pick the best in his previous 3 and abit seasons is tough. I mean best performance for me would probably be that Liverpool one away at Anfield. We were so good that day they couldn't handle us. What was so sweet about it aswell was in the run up Liverpool for some reason after they got a 0-0 draw against us in the Champions League thought they had the measure of us and were mouthing off. We shut them up royally that day.

Hard to look past the 4-2 against Barca.  Unbelievable match.

Yeah the 4-2 against Barca for me as well.  Didn't even have Robben...

Probably not the most glamourous but I remember our second title winning season under Jose. We'd blown a ten point lead and United were on our tails. Went one down at home to West Ham and Maniche got himself sent off. Jose still went three at the back and before you knew it we were 4-1 up. He then switched back to a four man defence and bled the life out of the game. It was a master class under real pressure.

Good pick Matty. I remember going absolutely potty for Crespo's goal.

Barcelona in 2005 has definitely got to be number 1. Such a great game plan to catch Barca cold early on.

Valencia away 2007 was pretty good. Allowing Essien (who was at Right Back) to gallop into the box and win us the tie in normal time.

Blackburn away 05 was great. Proper backs to the wall and we rallied after a serious injury to our inform player.

His greatest ever game was with inter at home to Barca in 2010. They went a goal down, but kept their intensity. The pace of their football petrified Guardiola that night. The away leg was a bit special too...

Has to be the Barcelona game. So iconic.

 

Last night was very special though, the performance more so than the result. The way people had been spouting on about City beforehand made it all the more sweeter.

I've been trying not to make too many comparisons between this time and last time under Jose but last night showed that with a totally different group of players, he can get the same belief and work ethic that will bring rewards.

 

I liked that game Matty mentioned and remember when Maniche was sent of thinking I'd lost my bet on 4-1...so surprised that with ten men Jose let them keep at it enough for me to collect.

 

Not much gets near that Barca game though.

If we win the league this year, this game will be viewed as the tipping point.

The Barca game at home was my favourite however I enjoyed the 3-0 at home to Utd to clinch back to back titles.Joe Coles goal was excellent,Rio got merked as he would say.
