Part of me hopes Roman pulls up the drawbridge and says no more money, which given the Ukraine situation isn't entirely out of the question. Then we could raise some money by selling a few such as Luiz, buy the world class striker we really need then not sign another player for ten years. If that sounds ridiculous I'm sorry, but as long as we have the money to fund the Academy at the level we currently are then believe me we have no need to show a net loss on transfers for at least ten years.

So you title a thread saying you hope we dont sign anyone, then state in your second sentence that we should sign a world class striker?

What I mean is raise the money for the striker we need by selling Luiz and a few others, then never show a loss with transfer dealings ever again.

To be honest we could go into next season with Lukaku, Torres/Ba and Bamford and I would be quite happy.

Well I dont think you will find many here who feel like we shoulfnt be mote self sustained and that more of our acadamy players should be given a shot, but going into nex season with Torres as our #2 striker? Yeah you are alone on that one lol

That's why we should sell Luiz, Mikel etc and raise the money for a game changer.

Then be clever and self sufficient from there on in.

I always like new signings not loads just a couple just to freshen things up. New signings always adds a bit more excitement to the new season too.

They do I agree, but only where they improve the squad and not just for the sake of it. However a lot of fans don't remember the excitement of bringing through your own players, Terry was our last. There was a time when genuine top class kids got a chance, but not any more and that desperately needs to change.

Chelsea are set for the next ten years if they just have the bollocks to do it.
