Well the discussion has been had on here about the FA limiting loaned players. I wonder how much the club relies on selling loaned players and if its essential for FFP? Anyone know?

If they do rely on it heavily then we're going to have to think of another way round FFP.

Can't have your cake and eat it so they say.

FFP is introduced to control club spending but to stay financially competitive with those who get bigger sponsor deals or TV deals Chelsea look to youth development as a means of boosting our inferior revenues.

Now the powers that be want to hinder that process but still want clubs to work within their strict financial guidelines on spending.

Meanwhile Manchester United for example boosted by unrivalled sponsorship deals can bring in players such as Di Maria breaking the British transfer record and having possibly the four highest paid players in England on their books despite having no European football etc.

Looks like Kalas will be back a couple of games before the end of the season. Apparently we'd be happy to let him play until the end of the Championship season (including any potential Boro involvement in the playoffs) but league regulations restrict him from playing for them for the entire year.

 

Edit: I had a look at a Boro forum to see what they thought - might also be worth noting that they are generally not too happy about this and seem to rate Kalas fairly highly.

I'm not entirely sure, he was at Köln before Middlesbrough this season and I think you are only allowed to play for two clubs in a single season.
