England down 10 places to 20th which is their lowest placing since 1996. The Dutch have gone up 12 places. Belgium up six places.

Well seeing as we finished bottom of our group in the World Cup there are more than 20 teams who finished better than us in the World so we should be thankful to even be ranked that high. 

 

The England set up, once again, looks a bit of a shambles despite the huge sums of money being invested. 

 

Hodgson is getting off lightly, he's had two of the worst England performances in recent memory at a finals and yet unlike almost every other manager whose team underachieved at the finals he has stayed in his job. 

Those rankings are a joke, never to be taken serious.

It's probably about right as far as England are concerned, we've been sh*te for years.

I Remember a few years ago we got to fourth, even though we haven't been in last four of major tournament since 96...I think our current ranking of 20th is generous too

Neither did Spain. or Portugal. or Italy.

 

England get ranked high because they normally beat (even if by slim margins) the teams they are supposed to beat and every now and then pull out a win like against spain that boosts their ranking. Not recently though, hence the drop in rankings. Not very surprising.
