Other English teams in Europe

Featured Replies

Thought I'd start a thread to follow the other English teams in Europe and keep the shed updated on the successes and failures.

Tonight,

- The dippers steal a win from some lowly team I'd never heard of until today.

- The arse get annihilated by Dortmund and Wenger is looking for another season of CL failure

Please feel free to add updates from other English teams. Next up London's finest Chelsea and the mighty blues of Manchester.

They aren't English remember, they're scouse.

So we're entitled to hate them and hope they lose every game in Europe without feeling unpatriotic.

On the whole, I support English teams in Europe. If Liverpool were in the Champions League final vs Barca or Bayern or Real, I would support them.

Last night was different, I wanted Ludogorets to win because they were huge underdogs and their qualifying story was amazing.

Can there be a more over used cliche in British football (and in particular ITV) than a varient of

"Magical European night at Anfield".

Of course there will be the rendistion of YNWA before kick-off with tha scarves held aloft and I'll admit that sometimes that can be impressive but then the pundits fail to acknowledge when it all goes very quiet and could be mistaken for a bad night at The Emirates.

I'm looking forward to today's match between Everton and Wolfsburg. Think both clubs are pretty talented and might be just even in terms of ability. Should be one of the better Europa League matches to watch.

Watching the everton Wolfsburg match goodison park is so quiet you can here a pin drop. Exept from the repetitive boring drone from the Germans. Similar to stamford bridge last night. The english atmosphere is miles behind the rest of Europe. Maybe a victim of it's own success. I think its embarrassing.

Definitely right. But it's also the same thing at Bayern. They might have the worst fans and atmosphere in Germany, among the bigger clubs in the Bundesliga, and it might simply be because there fans are so accustomed to success.
