April 9, 201511 yr Author Well that was a highly anti-climactic end to an excellent season. Would give that episode a 5 or 6 out of 10 and the season overall a 9. Will definitely be watching season two and hopefully it steadily improves like Breaking Bad did.
April 9, 201511 yr Agreed, a sh*t ending to a very enjoyable first season. Roll on season 2! Now I can finally continue with season 6 of Sons of Anarchy
April 10, 201511 yr Its obviously no breaking bad, and doesnt seek to be, much more light hearted. I havent enjoyed it as much as I thought I would, but its been more than watchable.

That show peaked for me at the end of season 3. Became a real struggle to watch after that. Managed to fit in 2 episodes of Daredevil so far and it's very promising. Surprisingly brutal in spots.
February 15, 201610 yr Sweet, how come it's not on Netflix yet? The first episode airs tonight, so perhaps it might be available after the initial airing.
February 16, 201610 yr Author Currently re-binge-watching the first season on Netflix before starting the second series. Can't wait though!
February 16, 201610 yr Great time to have Netflix. New better call Saul, house of cards and daredevil within the next couple of months.
February 16, 201610 yr Slow & pretty uneventful first episode, as you'd expect from Vince Gilligan. You just know sh*t will hit the fan, but not until episode 4 or 5.
February 17, 201610 yr Author Forgot how good the first season was. The episode revolving around Mike's son, as well as episode 8 - where Mike is the bodyguard - are especially good. About to start season two.

About to start season two. I literally don't remember a thing about Mike's son. Probably loads of other stuff I've forgotten about too. It's really sh*t that there's no catch up at the start of the new season, like there is on most of the big ones.

He was killed (off-camera, before the show is set) by two bent cops after not wanting to be "dirty". Mike took revenge by killing the cops then fled to Albuquerque- remember?

March 3, 201610 yr Author Nothing major has really happened in the first three episodes - all solid 8/10s. Looking forward to the next one though... With Jimmy about to get a bollocking and Mike working for Nacho it should be a good one!
March 9, 201610 yr Author Episode four is the best episode of the season by far, and possibly the best of the show so far!
March 9, 201610 yr Episode four is the best episode of the season by far, and possibly the best of the show so far! the one when Tuco jammed up Jimmy & his partners will be a hard one to top Edited March 9, 201610 yr by robdog
April 5, 201610 yr Author I'm still enjoying it but I'm about to watch episode 8 and not much has happened so far this season. The scene with Tuco in episode 4 was great but that's the only stand-out moment for me so far this season. Mike's story has been far more interesting than Saul's for me. With Breaking Bad, when there wasn't plot progression there were still great standalone episodes with them cooking in the desert. I'm not really getting that from BCS at the moment. Hopefully things will kick off in the last three episodes of the season. Edited April 5, 201610 yr by RichardCFC

I agree that if someone were to ask you what happened this season then there's not a lot to say, but for me it's so beautifully acted and the character's are so wonderfully developed that it doesn't really matter. The whole story is about how Jimmy and Mike become who they are in Breaking Bad and so there's not much mystery in where they get to, it's how they get there that's the real story. Sometimes it's slow but episodes like this last one are just perfect TV in my opinion. Again, on the face of it not much happens but you see the characters showing so many sides of themselves that there's no wasted scenes. It's probably the most tense show on TV at the moment as well because you know what broadly speaking is going to happen, so it's like watching a car crash in super slow-motion. You have characters trying to do the right thing but fighting against their innate instincts. Sometimes they accept that for better or worse, sometimes they surprise you but they always feel like fully-rounded individuals. I think it's much more subtle than Breaking Bad because the motives of the characters, Walt in particular, were obvious from the outset (although that changes over time). Here you've got people whose motives are less obvious but it's still compelling viewing. Best show on TV in my opinion.
