Jibbing-Share your stories

Any of you lot ever jibbed any stadiums?

Used to do it a lot in my younger years but speaking to some of the younger Chels, it's still ongoing!

Think the final in Munich 2012 was the easiest. I had a ticket but loads of mates didn't and were there in the stadium. Think I shared my seat area with about 8 others!

In the 80s it was piss easy but glad the traditional lives on!

Any memories of doing it yourself?

Yeah, Stamford Bridge a couple of times, just climbed over the North Stand exit gate using the barrier on the left.  One was the Brighton v Palace FA Cup replay in about '78, helped a load of Palace fans get in too.  Cut my hand though.

Got in a couple of away games away games on child tickets back in the day, they hardly ever checked, but i was young then, Most notably at bolton when walker scored, mind you every f**ker was getting kids tickets that day.

My Fulham mate is in his 50s but still buys kids tickets. Some of these lower league clubs still dont get it.  Dont think he' ever paid more than a fiver for his tickets. still doesn't get his money's worth :P

Qpr at Loftus Road, lots of little mobs locked out, cant remember the year but remember Stan Bowles was playing for QPR that day. One mob obtained a full size ladder from somewhere and we all teamed up and got in over the back of the end opposite the loft.

Probably a few on this site climbed the ladder?

Watford away once, three of us just walked in through the car park. Trains a couple of times. Wembley 1980, paid the gate man a tenner, then to get into the top level my WHam mate just passed his ticket through a gate to me.

1990 bristol city away in the cup.colour photocopiers were a new thing then and someone we associated with had access to one and they copied the original light blue match ticket plenty of times, enough for loads to get in.

alledgedly!

Plenty of OB checking tickets on the way in but the torrential rain made them less bothered I think.

Watford away was always easy to just walk in.

Wembley with dodgy hi vi's and "catering staff passes".

Southampton over the low wall onto the program shed roof.

At OT one season, helping someone who'd " had a turn" and needed medical attention immediately which meant being ushered in thru a side gate without a ticket check.

Saw a fella at SB about 2 years ago get rumbled and chased and caught with his dodgy police pass.his young boy stood crying whilst he was cuffed and led away until a mate took care of him.

Dodgy police pass. god that's risky! especially bringing your child along. you can have all these police passes but if you ain't got the confidence then it won't work!

Tried to get into the Bridge in recent years with a kids ticket.......Was stopped and asked if i had a child with me ...I replied......Everyone says im immature .........Wasnt going in that day but sold it

Way back, when in late teens, had a mate in the police based at Fulham police station, he'd just joined the police.

Couple of times when was on duty on a match day I'd find him outside, he'd put my arm up my back and walk me in like he was nicking me, and headed towards the old office block behind the east stand. As we got there he'd let me go and I'd make my way into the shed.

Another time I was walking along Fulham rd on a Saturday morning and he was in one of those big green police coaches they used to have, think he was going to an Arse or Spurs match, and he was making the w*nker sign at me out of the window. Without thinking I gave him one back, then realised a coach load of coppers were staring at me. Legged it fast!

I remember Norwich away in the early 80's we were throwing old tickets back over the wall to our fans from the standpoint behind the goal because they forgot to rip the stub off

How do you you jib with a high vis jacket, out of curiosity of course!

I always used to jump the turnstiles but with a high vis jacket, do you walk through a certain section. Do you print ID badges?

Sounds way too complicated for a simpleton like me

83/84 saw loads get in at Cambridge Grimsby Brighton without tickets. Cambridge was unbelievable, standing queuing the amount of people climbing over the turnstiles was amazing with the police too busy dealing with crowd outside!! Remember getting in late and it was packed. Abbey stadium only held about 6,000 but was way more in there that day.

My dad used to work the turnstiles at the Bridge, Highbury and Twickenham.  He said most of the operators were on the take - one of them went so far as to unscrew the turnstile from its hinges and let through loads of people for a backhander before refixing them.

One of my favourite stories is of a soldier on leave outside a Scotland v England game without a ticket at Hampden in 1947 or 1949. He spots an army pipe band about to go in and play before the match. Quickly goes over and marches on behind them. Once inside, he marches over to the terraces and takes his place.

Used to manage it in many places around the country years ago..Best i saw but didnt try myself was at the old wembley . cant rem if it was v stoke or not.....chelsea fans were like acrobats on shoulders upon shoulders upon shoulders getting into the side  towers. Frighteningly exciting
