Just been pondering what our squad for next season could end up being based on some of the rumors we have been hearing, what sort of a squad based off these rumors would make us happy, for the most part.

 

Deals like Falcao here and Cech off to Arsenal seem done and dusted, so based off the realistic rumors out there, what can we expect the look of our squad to be?

 

To keep it realisitc we know Jose likes a squad of 20 outfield players and 3 goalkeepers so based off that I have, so far, come up with:

 

Goalkeepers:

 

Courtios

Begovic (HG)

Blackman (HG)

 

Defenders:

 

Ivanovic

Cahill (HG)

Stones (HG)

Terry (HG)

'Dave'

Alderweireld

Ake (HG)

I will add I would sooner keep Kurt Zouma int he squad but his rumored move to Sampdoria on loan seems to be gathering pace.

 

I would be quite happy if this ended up being our squad for next season. Offers a good amount of depth in all departments and, if I am right, 8 Home Grown counted players.

 

Thought this might be a good thread to update as new rumors come in and deals are done, and see what we end up with. What are my fellow blues squad thoughts based off these rumors so far?

Apologies for going off topic, but why would we loan out Zouma?

If he leaves, it would be permanent for a fat lump of cash. He was brilliant last year.

FWIW, I can't see Jose selling him or shipping him out on loan. We don't know how many more seasons JT has left in him.

I would not want him to go either way but just a lot of strong rumors that he will be first choice for Sampdoria next season and maybe Jose seems that as a way of improving the tactical side of his game?

 

Just a guess, as the links seemed foolish to begin with but have gathered momentum.

I like this squad. But Cuadrado out for Griezmann.

Right now I'm thinking José must of been given assurance from roman regarding the young players coming through next season, otherwise I would have thought we would be a lot busier than we are in thw market currently.

Jose will be back next week to start pre season work, hopefully some better transfer targets will reveal themself then :)

I'm not too worried, it's not like anybody around us has made big moves for anybody yet.
