Yes he is. He should be playing for Southhampton. 

His finishing is dreadful as a striker and he's a typical speed merchant as a winger with no real ability to create chances. A really neither here nor there player.

Nah I don't wholly agree, I don't think he's much if a goal scorer but he works had and can cause problems for defences. sh*t is a huge overstatement, maybe average would be a better team.

The guy hasn't had a single season where he has scored 10 league goals, he's bang average. Van Gaal wasn't wrong to sell him, he just hasn't bought anyone else in.

Though he has a very good international record, which is why I'd take him to the Euro's.

Well, he just doesn't score enough goals to be a striker at any top club. One of LVG's good decisions, I'd say.

He should have been ideally used as a wide man cutting in from the left and getting onto his right foot. He's got pace, dribbling ability,  strength, good link up play and he works his ass off. Very poor finishing undermines most of that, though. Also, injury prone. But if he were used as a winger, since he's not that great defensively, he'd need a solid full back supporting him, too.

 

End of the day, he's not a complete winger, he's not a good enough forward.

He should be at a mid-table club as a starter.
