It was working perfectly fine with Kante in the team though, they look better with him in the side than Sissoko who i thought was poor against Iceland.

I am of the opinion that Sissoko is an absolute fraud of a player and I think I've droned on at length about the genius of Kanté.

 

Germany have started pretty shakily though - watch Sissoko put in an absolute masterclass now I've said that.

Sissoko is dog sh*t most of the time, but in certain games turn into a prime Yaya Toure. Wouldn't be surprised if this is one of them.

Before the game I thought it would be a boring 0-0 draw. Ten minutes in, I think it'll be France. After the Italy game, you definitely can't pick Germany to win if it goes to penalties

Update: 14 minutes in, Germany now look stronger. Muller still ineffective. Both back lines have been sh*t.

Both sides look a bit like they had too much caffeine right before the game. Overkicking, impatience, frenetic passing.

Germany too clever, too strong.

A very different ten minutes have just passed; Germany have totally dominated possession and taken control of the game.

 

Interestingly Emre Can seems to be playing the furthest forward of the three German midfielders, acting almost as a decoy to drag one of Pogba or Matuidi out of position so that Kroos and Schweinsteiger can dictate the play, and Ozil can drift inside to link up with the forwards. Working very effectively so far - of course it wouldn't be possible if Deschamps had started Kanté...

Don't understand why France are giving Germany so much space... Especially the likes of Ozil.
