What are you jabbering on about? Where did I say that? Jesus you're just creating an argument by twisting what I'm staying  :face_palm: .

Let me break it down for you:

- people who complain that jose counts the CS weren't doing the same when he counted it as a manger for usz

- people saying them celebrating winning the Europa League the way they did was embarrassing need to get a grip. I'm sure many of our boys have been "embarrassing in the pitch" celebrating trophies.

That is what is hypocritical!

It's funny how much it winds people up how Utd celebrated winning a trophy, why do people f**king give a dam? People don't have to watch it, it's their choice.

You're right they are hypocrites. Mourinho use to always say the charity shield was a trophy when he won it and used it as a launch pad for the season.

Charity shield is never anything other than a friendly.

Like I said above, the rules of a competitive football game allow 3 substitutions, charity shield allows 5.

If you're playing for a trophy and score is tied after 90 minutes you go to extra time, charity shield goes straight to penalties.

It's an exhibition match, end of, regardless of who's in it, who wins it or who loses it.

Every football fan I know if their club wins the charity shield they call it a trophy. If their club loses they belittle it and say it was a just a friendly.

Right so if it wasn't for this supposed bitterness, we'd all be showering United and Jose with love and adulation then? Yes, you're most definitely being ridiculous.

Of course there are a few who are bitter towards Jose. Which isn't unusual. You don't expect every single Chelsea fan to have glowing reviews of him. But don't try to paint every not-so-good response from Chelsea fans towards United and/or Jose as "bitterness". That's just silly.

Your making stuff up now, where did he even hint at us showering Jose with love and adulation? That's you being ridiculous.

Well that's because most football fans are idiots. Anybody with that mentality should never be taken seriously as a genuine football fan.

For me enjoy our success and yeah call opposition teams what you want but don't call them out on things when our team has done the same.

Well technically it is a trophy so can be counted but it's not what I personally would deem important. Although I remember when we won it against a United in 2001 and I was thrilled. Same as I was when we won it in 2005 and 2010 for differing reasons each time mind. I just think it's the one trophy if you don't win it you don't really care.

Spot on, always different rules for your own club  Personally I thought Costa looked a right prick with what he was doing,

So just putting it out there how do we all feel about the super cup?

Bit like the Community Shield nice to win but not end of the world if you lose it. Although winning it in 98 beating Real Madrid felt massive but I think that's was because we weren't a title winning club like we are now.

My thoughts also, I'm gutted about losing the community shield or super cup until I get in the pub however the rest of the domestic trophies I tend to have the hump for a lot longer. As for the world club thing what ever it is not interested champions of the world :face_palm: makes me feel American.

I'd actually edited my post after but I'll say here again it was massive in 1998 when we beat Real but now winning as serially as we do it's not got that same allure it had then. Yeah you sound like you feel the same way I do.

I was deseparate to win that Club World Cup back in 2012 because you never know when you're gonna be in it again and we've never won it. But Benitez with his tinkering f**ked it up for us. Although looking back I don't think I lost any sleep over it.

We don't claim our four CS  wins as trophies.

It's a one off match FFS!

But you earn the right to play it by either winning the PL or FA Cup (or coming 2nd in certain circumstances) which is the same as earning the right to play in the Super Cup by winning the CL or EL. For me if you're gonna count the Super Cup then you should count the Community Shield. Plus it is a trophy that's a fact, there's no two ways about but it's just not one held in that high regard.

- Do you have proof that the exact people complaining now about Jose's CS talk were the exact same people whom you found to not complain at all about when he won it with us? Can you say without a doubt that those posters were on this forum in 06 and 07? Or are you just throwing out that accusation based on other fans you've seen? If I remember correctly, the only reason we took the CS serious during Jose's first stint is that we were playing either United, Arsenal or Liverpool and the rivalry at the time, especially with United and Liverpool was just getting to another level because of our emergence as a top team. It was more about the opponent than the bloody Community Shield itself.

- No one has said them celebrating the EL was "embarrassing". I believe that's a word I used in referring to that video in the tweet I posted. Also, many of our fans talked down our own win in 2013 as well so I'm not sure why you're acting like it's a brand new sentiment all of a sudden.

We're apparently bitter for "moaning about the wrong things" as if having a go at a rival is strange behaviour. If you actually took your time to read his previous 2 posts including the one I quoted there, you'll see what I was referring to. By his logic, if it weren't for this supposed "bitterness", no one would be giving United/Jose any stick. Which is an absurd notion.

So City have let go of Navas, Clichy, Sagna, Nolito and Caballero.

Must have some players lined up sharpish.

Zabaleta too recently.

They will probably have a crazy summer Ahead of them.

He never once said or even intimated this, stop making stuff up.

If you were unable to make that inference from his posts then that's on you. I'm just pointing out why that logic is problematic.

::clap2::Exactly! In any case it got boring hours ago I'm done with it. I can't be arsed debating with someone intent on arguing with me by twisting what I'm saying. Thanks for the back up dkw :JC_doubleup:

Ok so, 2019 community shield : City 2-1 United, City fan is giving it the large one. 2020 it's City 1-2 and United fan is giving it back, City fan says "whatever mate, it's a pre-season friendly"

You're telling me he's not an idiot? How is anyone supposed to take a clown like that seriously?

Anybody can enjoy any success, i celebrate when we win it but I don't count it as a trophy in as when i'm telling me brother "I can't believe I have seen Chelsea win x, y and z" I would never in a million years mention the comunity shield.

Super Cup is a legitimate trophy. It's played with competition rules so it's a competitive game. 3 subs, extra time if scores level.

Community shield is played with friendly/exhibition rules so it not a competitive game. 5 subs , no ET.

If they changed the CS to only 3 subs allowed and you played ET it would legitimise it.
