Whoever he gets he'll play non attacking football. Coupled with the fact he can no longer manage young players and has fallen out of love with the game will result in an early exit from Europe and a repeat of this years league form.

It's a blow to the rest of us because now they have the CL carrot to dangle plus having far more money than any of the other clubs here have. They can basically go all out now and bring in whoever Jose wants without the concern of trying to sell it like seasons gone by.

greizmann is a stick on and with him they get a world class forward. It's an area we are in need of bettering but they will pretty much tie up the best available in Europe with him.

I just hope Jose really is a busted flush and has lost the ability to manage a group of egos and stars. When he has a blank cheque book here he done serious damage to the league.

Hopefully we have our business tied up early

I wouldn't worry ... Jose apparently got everyone he wanted this season ... and finished 6th.

It's not as if we will be after the same targets anyway ... I highly doubt Jose is interested in any player who can actually play football ... it wouldn't be a good fit for his tactics :-)

Hopefully Atleti's transfer ban holds up, might make them dig their heals in with AG as they can't bring in Lacazette as a replacement.

If they play like this evening, I'm not too worried. Ajax were hopelessly naive, constantly attacking down the centre and trying fancy flicks every time. José's dream- United could just stay compact and pick them off on the counter and at set pieces.

As we've seen this season you need to be a bit more expansive in the league. José did this in the first half of 14/15 before we got taken apart by Spurs, making him revert to type. It wasn't a coincidence that we crawled over the finish line that season. With the level of competition at the top you need to have a proper attacking plan. Griezmann will help if they get him, but not sure one player will change it all given they're probably losing Zlatan.

After all the talk this week about what supposedly makes a classy tribute in football, jt's departure on Sunday is contrived and a disgrace..yet somehow Man Utd are allowed to make a terrorist attack at a pop concert all about them and it be seen as perfectly ok.

We're hardly after the same players mate. We were never in for Griezmann, in fact, Griezmann has been United bound for at least a year now.

None of the players we're after are serious United targets save for Benjamin Mendy whom I'm not even quite sure Chelsea want (or can get).

They can go right ahead and improve themselves along with City. I'm sure we've all expected this for months now.

Wouldn't have it any other way. It'll make winning the league next year over them even sweeter.

Love Jose still but this is actually embarrassing, trying to force everyone to recognize the Community Shield as a "trophy" ffs.

he did some silly stuff with us and i still blindly backed him back in the day...but if he ever did something like that here i'd be embarrassed as feck lol.

idiot goes from saying the europa league is a nothing competition when rafa won it, to celebrating it as part of his micky mouse treble season that counts finishing 6th in the league and the community shield as one of those trophies lol

manch6ster unit6d indeed

We have adopted 'One Step Beyond'  after a victory. United's new anthem is 'Embarrassment '. It's hard to qualify even as a Mickey mouse treble ,maybe the glory treble.

Honestly the way some of you are obsessing over it is ridiculous. Teams we don't like are gonna win trophies and we can say it's embarrassing the way they celebrate but people would probably say the same about us. Honestly some people need to get a grip.

You don't know who we are after, the press know nothing.

Just saw the 3 celebration :laugh2:

Jose didn't celebrate like that winning major Trophies but this just shows how much pressure he's under and deep down he knows he's failed big time.

Conte has owned him and will continue to do so, I long for United and Jose to crash and burn next season

Winning trophies.. It's what Jose does.

As bad of a season United have had they've finished with two bits of silverware and qualified for the Champions League, by all accounts that's a success.

Given the money they've spent as a club over the last 4 years I was surprised to see they only had 30% possession against what was essentially a youth team. I don't think United can continue playing that deep going into next season if they have any aspirations of competing for the league or having a decent run in Europe.

He will have to try to change the football for sure. United fans won't stand for it, they've probably let it slide this season given there most recent seasons and the fact they've won two trophies.

So in your opinion it isn't in fact embarrassing then? Could have just said that.

I think Ajax were incredibly naive tactically and Jose's experience shone through. Sat back and comfortably watched them try to penetrate the defence through the middle repeatedly to no avail. They had no plan B and that was tailor made for Jose. No surprise.
