Absolutely love Mick Channon when I was a kid. Been lucky enough to have had a few chats with him over the years!

His ‘windmill celebration’ when he’d scored was brilliant!😀

Kevin Keegan playing for England v Bulgaria back June 1979. Match was in Sofia.
Pretty sure it was shown live on tv. Which was quite rare back in 1979.

John Robertson converts the penalty to win the League Cup for Forest against Liverpool at Old Trafford.

John Robertson scores from the penalty spot for the only goal of the game. To win the League Cup for Forest against Liverpool at Old Trafford in March 1978.

The original game at Wembley had ended in a 0-0 draw.  It’s still some story looking back, exactly what Forest achieved then under Brian Clough . Particularly from 1977-1980.

‘In his book Best, Pele, And A Half-Time Bovril about football in the 1970s, Bygones writer Andy Smart recalls that Forest had gone from the brink of relegation to the Third Division to the best side in England in the space of three seasons.

“That is one giant leap and it was almost as if no one saw them coming,” he wrote.’

March 1967.  Roger Hunt at Anfield. I don’t usually post many Liverpool pics. However, I think this is a great picture. The crowd, possibly The Kop in the background and Roger Hunt in front of them.

Big League. Remember having this game as a kid. For some reason, my old man painted the two teams in the colours of Arsenal and Hibernian !
No idea why !! He must have ‘had a few too many’, when he painted them!!😀

"Le Carré Magique" (The Magic Square) Luis Fernández, Alain Giresse, Jean Tigana, Michel Platini France 1984-86
Hard to believe it was only 2 years. The nickname came from the shape of their formation, & err... because they were magic
