Remember seeing Trevor Francis play for Glasgow Rangers in 1987/88.

They played Greenock Morton in a late November midweek game..

I can remember thinking how surreal it was watching Trevor Francis playing at Cappielow in that game!😀

UEFA Cup: Nov 1977.  Ipswich Town 3 v 0 Barcelona  - Johan Cruyff and Clive Woods.  Barcelona won the tie on penalties. They had won the second  leg 3-0 in normal time.

In 1922  Spanish champions Barcelona were opening theiir new Les Corts Stadium. St  Mirren were the first opposition at the new stadium. Playing twice in two days they lost 2-1 and 1-0 in front of 20,000 fans to a Barcelona side

I didn't know that St. Mirren had visited Barcelona back in the day. I wonder why St. Mirren was chosen. Will have to investigate to see if there is a link between the two teams. Talking os St. Mirren, a good result for them yesterday. Not that I'm biased!

@erskblue You're welcome. Good to read that St. Mirren were given a great welcome by Paisley ex pats in Barcelona.

When I had to go to our office in East Kilbride would take a taxi from Glasgow Airport and would drive past St. Mirren's ground.
