The funniest football scene I have seen was in a Norman Wisdom film,  Up in the World.

Absolute hilarious as he plays against the Lord of the Manor's team as a newbie and not understanding the unwritten rules.

Porridge, the film in 1979. Football match in Slade Prison. Mr MacKay is the ref.   Prisoner escapes during the match !

That was one of the better episodes.

If I remember correctly that's the one where they try to get back into prison after escaping without getting caught.

I remember a sketch where a civilian looks at them strangely as Fletcher pretends to be Godber's trainer on a country lane to avoid detection.

Love St, Paisley. former home of St Mirren.

I thought they were playing QPR in this picture and this was 'the famous QPR away support'.

The ground was demolished af ew years ago and now a new housing estate sits here.

The Scotland squad for the 1982 World Cup. Some fine players. Went 1-0 up against Brazil through a great goal by David Narey and ended up losing 4-1.

I remember a quote from this Brazil 1982 game.

Graeme Souness: We annoyed them by scoring first !"

And a very great Brazil side. With players such as Zico and Socrates. Probably the best Brazilian side since the one in 1970.

Agreed. They were some side to watch, even if they did lose to eventual winners Italy.

The Scotland team which beat England 3-2 at Wembley in 1967. Eddie on the left and the legendary Jim Baxter, 3rd from the right. The number 9 may be Jim McCalliog who played for us in the early to mid sixties.
