Can't think of many recent footballers who now run pubs. Remember a guy I used to work with was very friendly Kevin Gallacher, who played for Blackburn and Scotland in the mid 1990s. He'd been invited for the weekend to stay with Kevin and his family. He watched a Rovers home game and went for a meal to a restaurant to be told by a member of staff unfortunately they were full. Kevin Gallacher just laughed asked to see the manageress saying. " And could you tell her, the owner of the establishment would like a table !" They got a table and I'd imagine great food, drinks and service Sorry off topic I admit.

March 20, 20206 yr One of the great lines from Fawlty Towers. I wonder how many lines have been used by Torquay United fans over the years.
March 21, 20206 yr These supporters above, are watching a match at Bolton's Burnden Park in the 1970s ! Those 'seats' don't look very comfortable...
March 21, 20206 yr Scotland fans arriving for the 1975 match v England at Wembley. It ended 5-1 to England. Or they are just down for a Bay City Rollers concert ! Edited March 21, 20206 yr by erskblue

I was at the game. The first international game I went to. My Dad took me. The Scotland goalie, Stewart Kennedy had a nightmare. I wish I'd gone to the game in 1977 when Scotland won 2-1. That team in 1977 was a brilliant side. Goals from McQueen and Dalglish. March 22, 20206 yr Football supporters at a match at the turn of the 20th Century. In Leicester I would assume.
March 22, 20206 yr Here are servicemen at Wembley in 1943 enjoying a wartime match between England v Scotland.
March 22, 20206 yr @erskblueGreat picture of the servicemen. Am tempted to try and identify the regiments from the cap badges. Possibly Royal Artillery in the foreground?

Would be seen as dangerous weapons. Saying that there is probably a few from the Commandos and the Airborne Division in the crowd. They would just rely on unarmed combat!
March 22, 20206 yr A bit different. I think this was taken a few years back when Chelsea played Rangers at Ibrox in a pre-season friendly. Veterans from the Royal Hospital Chelsea and the Erskine. The Chelsea Pensioner on the right is wearing a Rangers Supporters Erskine Appeal Scarf.
March 23, 20206 yr Packed terracing at Hillsborough for 1970 FA Cup semi-final between Leeds Utd and Man Utd.
