Liverpool, a team that's supposed to have more history than us, is in Division 2. ^ Liverpool's history before 1962 is pretty ordinary if we use their metric to define having "history" and "success". For a club that likes to describe us as having "no history" and being "plastics" I find it ironic to be honest. It's only from the work of Shankly and Paisley they became a powerhouse that they're now renowned for in addition to financial backing from the Moores family. When we won the First Division in 1955, they were languishing in the Second Division. Interestingly enough they were poor for majority of the 54/55 season that there was a chance of them being relegated again to the Third Division, but a strong run in the latter part of the season kept them in the Second Division. For future reference, if Liverpool supporters say we don't have history then just mention 1955. That should shut them up real quick. Edited February 15, 20206 yr by Jezz

Shankly could handpick players from the market like he was leafing through a Littlewoods catalogue.

It will be showing a film of the actual match. And the refs will still get it wrong !"
