Went 1-0 up against Brazil through a great goal by David Narey and ended up losing 4-1. Back Row: Souness, Rough, McLeish, Hansen, Thomson, Narey Middle: Wark, Frank Gray, Miller, Jock Stein, Brazil, Archibald, Aitken Front: Sturrock, Strachan, McGrain, Hartford , Dalglish. I'd struggle to name many of the current Scottish international players though. Edited March 15, 20206 yr by erskblue

Some great players there. I reckon the last great Scottish player up to Billy Gilmour was Barry Ferguson. But then I am biased towards Rangers.

And my avatar is of three Rangers legends: Forsyth, Cooper and Greig. I've worn a Rangers shirt to a few games at the Bridge, the last time being in April 2011 a few days after my Dad passed away. He was a Rangers fan so out of respect. A few players including our first manager have played for both sides. I would have loved to have seen Nevin and Cooper on the same side. That would have frightened the opposition and would have had defenders tied up in knots. And here's a man who played for both sides. A legend.

A privilege to have seen him play and he was a complete gentleman when I met him outside Ibrox in late 1987.

Reminded me of a story told to me by one of the guys I go to the games with. He and his wife used to run a shop and one day a customer wearing a Man. Utd shirt and West Ham shorts. My mate gave him a load of stick.

I recognise the person to Rod's right but can't put a name to him. A classic Rangers shirt. Ironically, Rod is now a regular attendee at Celtic Park.

It's amazing how many ex-footballers e.g. Osgood and Hutchinson used to run pubs. Can't think of many recent footballers who now run pubs.
