No, the steps (stairway 13) were on the corner of the Copland Road stand and the Govan (now the Sandy Jardine) stand. The picture above is of the corner of the Copland Road stand and the Main Stand. I know a few people including a couple of my uncles who were at the game. I remember my Dad who moved to London in the 1950s phoning his parents in Larkhall, about 20 miles south of Glasgow to ask if his brothers were okay. They were A few people from Larkhall were among those who died. Their is a memorial to them in one of the pubs in Larkhall. The only good (if that's the right word to use) thing to come out of the disaster was that the Rangers board took the decision to rebuild the ground with only the Main Stand remaining.
December 22, 20196 yr @Scott It's difficult to believe that in just over a year's time it will be the 50th anniversary of the disaster. Always moving when Rangers marks the anniversary.
