Problem is, when we did give Mourinho control on transfers, he sold Lukaku, De Bruyne and Salah all for far less than they proved to be worth (something for which we've definitely suffered for)

Exactly HOW have we "definitely suffered"?

Cause I'm fed up of seeing the club shelling out millions on the like of Rahman, Cuadrado, Salah, Ba, Torres, Zhirkov, Veron, Mutu, Djiobodji, Hector, Benayoun, Marin, Atsu, Luis, Boulahrouz, Falcao and Wright-Phillips when other clubs like Ac Milan and Juve sign players like Rodriguez and Matuidi for £18 million and Chelsea are set shelling out £40 mil for Drinkwater. Irl he is worth £15 it's just the market this year is a joke! Promote 3 English youth players then if we gonna spend £40 on a back up player might as well spend it on a real talent. Kante cost £32 do you really think Drinkwater is worth more ?

Kante had a buy out clause, if he didn't you wouldn't have bought him for £32m. AC Milan and Juve get quoted different prices to all premier league clubs. We get quoted £35m+ for someone like Troy Deeney. If you want to buy premier league teams best players, you have to pay over the odds because we all have the cash.

Do you think our billionaire owners need the cash, especially after such a lucrative couple of seasons we've had? There is absolutely no reason for us to want to sell unless it's a silly offer.

I know it's frustrating, but we're in the same boat as you. £30m for the likes of Keane, Pickford, £50m for Walker, £50m for Stones, £50m for Sterling this figures have set the market.

We could have won 3 BPL trophies instead of just the 2.

Not that either of Lukaku, de Bruyne or Salah would have got into Jose's title winning side but but they definitely would have developed as well sitting on our bench and playing in the carling cup, you never know De bruyne may have even broke into the starting 11 under Hiddink if we had kept him.

In other news I spilt my milk this morning and I'm really struggling to get over it.

Just think the transfer window this year is joke. It's a joke how a players price can go up by millions just because they're English, or there is a league price then a premier league price i.e. Belotti £91 if English club wanted him, £40 million if an Italian club wanted them. I get it's to keep the talent in the league it's just ridiculous.

And just cause a club activates a players release clause doesn't mean the club has to accept it.

If it helps you can keep Stankwater...

No problems...he's your level of player...

League winning level?

The management is wasting to much time on buying whatever players are on their list. 11 days is not too late to sign 5 players but are we really making moves or looking at other alternatives if some fail?

Shouldn't you be on your own forum website talking about your Europa cup challenge?

Why do you have a problem with other fans coming on here and talking football if they are doing so sensibly.

It just shows up your intellect if you can't debate, but just attempt to rubbish other teams. We might be a midtable team, but when I was growing up you were nothing more than that. Remember where you came from and where you've been. Just because you were midtable doesn't mean all your players are that level, considering you bought one of our players and he's now your best player you'd think you might understand that.

Perhaps you're just one of those fans that only started supporting Chelsea when you started throwing money at it, if that's the case then I feel for you.

Be nice to our visitor please, he means you no harm I'm sure.

Love how's this has gone from a nice debate about the current transfer market and who we feel would improve the Chelsea team either by depth or quality to a slagging match. I'm only here for the Chelsea! As will I be Sunday against Everton.  Here's hoping that we play well and win, as well as get the reinforcements we need.

Happy to tell you that my first match was in 1969 and my blue credentials are quite solid...and unlike some of the haters on here I'm prepared to express an opinion unlike their vanilla views...and you're right you are mid-table team and there's nothing wrong with that...I just don't reckon Drinkwater is good enough for us...

Then who would you suggest ? That is a realistic target (at the start of the transfer window and right at the moment).

Oxlaide Chamberlain...Balde...Seri...Llorente...you want more?  And don't forget Tomori though a defender I think can do a good job as a DMF...

At this point, I think just 2 players are on the horizon -Drinkwater and Ryan Bertrand which would be just squad strengthening.

I'm hoping Conte sees enough in his current squad to keep us in contention for all competitions.

I suspect we are saving the cash until January.

All of those are either not midfielder, or probably aren't up for being 3th or 4th choice. Now we don't know if Drinkwater is willing to play 4th choice but it seems more likely than someone like Seri. What's your opinion on Marchisio ?

The independent have an interesting piece today - saying that we may be looking for more defensive cover, rather than CM, because Conte might be thinking about playing Luiz in CM this season. Conte was glowing on Luiz's performance in CM against Spurs.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/david-luizs-midfield-chelsea-transfer-plans-tottenham-a7906366.html

Get the feeling this season we may get injuries, Luiz last season was carrying a knee injury, Bakayoko was injured until this weekend, Hazard is recovering as is Drinkwater from a groin strain.

With there likely to be 2 matches a week if cups comps go well I think the squad cover will get used.

I rate Luiz in midfield too.

Marchisio would be perfect in my opinion. Although I don't think Juve will sell.

Too old and won't leave Italy...Snederlien would be good or Herrera from United if they could be available...is the younger Chalobah fit yet?
