no easy games in this league, palace away to city, wolves away to spuds, plenty of shockers to be had by all.

Yeah i get that and agree that there is no easy games. But if we had only lost 1 of the 3 games i mentioned, and won the other 2 then i wouldnt consider that a blip and would consider it a shock result, but the fact is we dropped points in all 3 of those games, as well as other teams that we should expect to beat. At what point does it stop being a shock result if it is happening more often than not?

Anyway, @coco, we have sidetracked this thread. I respect your opinion and what you are saying.

For the record, I would not be against ZZ but i am not wholly certain he would be convinced to come here.

Zidane can simply enjoy life after what he has done with Real Madrid. Why would he lose his nerves coming to the Bridge he has nothing to prove...

Genuinely can't understand why Zidane would join us. He doesn't want a challenge and he doesn't want to manager a second rate team like Chelsea. He's top tier
His next club will be Juventus.
Our next manager will be Blanc probably. Not really any other options out there.
Well, if Zidane moves to Juventus and we signed Allegri, that's a win for me.
Given the complete shambles we are as a club, why on earth would Zidane come here?
Trust me, we are done with average managers like him.

What is with the hate for zidane? I saw you say slutsky would be a better manager for us. How come you dont rate him?

Admittedly he had a world class team at Madrid, but 3 champions league wins on the spin is a massive achievement for any manager.

He's either a troll or a bit thick. Not really sure

Highly doubt this is happening. But if does happen I hope his demands are met. Zidane and Roman need to be speaking directly to each other. The board and the transfer/loan policy is what has really ruined this club and made us worse than the likes of Spurs and Arsenal in recent times. If Zizou was to have complete control and got everything his own way, that would be ideal.

As long as the board are dictating transfers and what not though, we are going to keep on failing and things wont change no matter how many new managers we bring in. Its time to end the cycle.

Have you thought that through, did Zidane buy any players at Madrid or did he inherit a good squad?

I thought it was the latter though always think the board and new manager need to come to a compromise as part of the initial signing deal on who they want to sign.

Some managers may be great coaches yet not be able to recognise great talent or separate a great talent from a troubled personality.

Zidane also left after Real Madrid didn't want to follow his vision for the club. So there was no compromise because the owner of Real Madrid had much different plans compared to Zidane. He quit just like that after 9 trophies in less than 2 and a half years. In order for Zidane to even think coming to the Bridge he would need to basically be the best friend of Roman and Marina and probably with some more people at the club...

He got the dressing rooms complete and utter respect.

1) Because of the legend of a player he was in recent years, and pretty much all the current crop of players would have watched him play growing up and idolised him (especially Hazard)

2) He inherited a squad that didn't perform anywhere near as good as they could have in previous years, and he completely changed them

I think he would do well for us, at least in terms of changing up the way we do transfers (which is pointless now because of the ban but my point still stands)

Re point 1. Well remember Gullit was a legend of a player yet couldn't quite deliver except 1 FA Cup, IMO.

Point 2. I'll accept as I know little about them though see they missed out on top honours for the two previous seasons.

You might be right though £200m buys 3 players at £65m - ish, would that be enough for him?

Seriously? Just because someone doesn't share your opinion?

Because your opinions are way off the mark consistently.

Gullit is a legend yes, but he was relatively unproven. Zidane is one of the greatest players of all time and in a lot of people's all time XI.

200m gets 3 players yes, but in todays market its not even that crazy anymore. Also, our squad is already actually pretty good, but we are just a couple of players short of having a great squad so us getting 3 top drawers players will completely change that. The main problem we have is our bench is relatively weak compared to other sides and also our fullbacks are aging and RW is poor.

Saying that though, Sarri has given me some faith in the past couple of weeks in showing that hes actually willing to change up tactics a little bit instead of the same bullsh*t he was doing before. So I think Sarri is still a good shout atm. Glad that hes not as stubborn as some of our previous managers
