baptista will miss a few sitters, so will adebayor, rosicky might have one otherwise i can't see us scoring so you 'll proabbly win it but since our season has been over for a few months now, i couldn't care less about that game.

Arsenal will be up for this one I think. Although they have little to play for their is always pride at stake and they will want to gain some revenge for the League Cup Final.

We really need a good performance to get rid of the cloud hanging over us after the last couple of games. If we can win this game at least it will pick our heads up and ensure the league is still not 100% decided before United visit us next week.

Drogba has been out of the goals a little recently but he has a decent record against Arsenal. Hopefully he can bag a couple. Is Senderos playing ;)

What I'm praying for:

------------------Cech

Ferreira - Boulahrouz - Terry - A. Cole

J. Cole -- Lampard -- Essien -- Robben

---------Shevchenko - Drogba

What I'll get:

---------------Cech

Diarra - Essien - Terry - Bridge

---------------Maka

Wright-Phillips - Lampard - J. Cole

------Shevchenko - Drogba

nope i think senderos will leave the club as he's suffering of cyganite.

Thats funny. I thought they both just had a case of Caesaritis ;)

Actually I've seen Senderos put in some decent displays for Arsenal but Drogba always seems to walk all over him.

Assuming JM persists with the diamond, then putting the pieces into place:

---------------Cech---------------------

Ferreira---Terry--Boulahrouz--Bridge

----------------Makelele

-----------Essien-------Mikel

-----------------J.Cole

-----------Drogba---Kalou

I doubt we'll see Sheva. Give Lampard a rest on the bench and play our form midfielders.

Arsenal's defence is too small to contain Drogba. Neither Toure or Gallas can compete with him in the air. All we need is some decent delivery from set pieces and we'll score a couple. Just let Bridge take them and we'll be fine.

Can't believe people are still putting Frank in their starting lines ups. Are you all that blind to the fact that he has been very poor for some time? (Now watch him start and get a brace!!)

I would leave him out, no question and let the likes of Mikel, Diarra, SWP, Joe & robben get decent playing time so they are prepared for the cup final.

I would never choose swp over lamps- ever. (okay, they play in different positions, put in the pecking order swp is right at the bottom and lamps at the other end) swp's recent good form... if lamps had that we'd say it was bad form. he was great in the cup semi, good at west ham, strong at home to liverpool and when he actaully got the ball in the away game, he used it well. away to arsenal, I wouldn't choose diarra over him either. but, he needs a rest, no question. despite that, he's still within the top 3 of our most important players.

Thats just it Gullit, he's knackered, add to that his phenomenal form of the past 2 seasons, and the dip in form this just shows up more. For someone who isn't playing well, 21 goals this season looks rather good. icon_wink.gif

OK! At the risk of getting a verbal head kicking here, I feel it may not be a bad idea now to accept the title is gone and rest some of the players who have run themselves into the ground for us in recent months, give Lamps, Drogs & a couple of others a few days off and give some of the youngsters a run out.

I know it's a pride thing against the gooners but surely with the final only a matter of days away now (OK! 14 to be precise!) it would be better to give fresh legs & lungs a chance to impress and restore some enthusiasm to our play in the last couple of league games & make them feel they have a chance of breaking into the first team next season, rather than trotting out already exhausted players chasing a lost cause and then, through having no rest at all, completely collapsing at Wembley and handing Manure the double.

I would quiet happily lose or draw our last 3 league games with this scenario with things as they stand, and then turn up at Wembley for the end of season showpiece with a fully rested refreshed first choice 11 and stuff the feckers, leaving them in no doubt that we will 'ave em! next season.

I'd almost accepted that the title had gone before today's game. Even though it's still theoretically possiible, realistically it just ain't gonna happen. Enough is enough. And I suspect that Jose had already as much when he announced Scott Sinclair's inclusion in the squad. In which case there's surely a better chance of him actually being involved in tomorrow's game than if the Mancs derby had gone the other way or even been a draw. In other words, you may well get your wish.

Any more news on the squad for tomorrow?

Hopefully we can win our last 3 games and lose our title on a winning note . The more points we finish ahead of Liverpool the better , at least it might ease the pain of last Tuesday , ok maybe not by much but its still something we can shove down their throats .

Tough call on the team for tomorrow.

Based on form and assuming Carvalho and Sheva are out through injury I would consider one of two teams.

The first is selected on the grounds that the title race is 99% over and thus to an extent players should be rested with an eye on the cup final.

This team would be

..............................Cech.....................................

Paulo..................Boula.................JT..............Bridge

................................Essien.....................................

......Diarra....................SWP......................Joe............

.................................................Robben......................

.................................Sinclair.....................................

The second selected on with the mindset that the league isn't over until it is mathematically out of the question. This team would be

..............................Cech.....................................

Paulo..................Boula.................JT..............Bridge

................................Mikel.....................................

...................Essien......................Joe ............

.........Robben.............................................

.........................................Kalou..................

.................................Drogba.....................................

A few points:

1. Lamps is in neither team. He is not i the first beause he desperately needs a rest and he is not in the second because he is woefully short of form right now

2. Boula is in both teams because he is a centre half, Essien isn't!

3. Bridge is in both teams because I think he should play in the cup final and he doesn't need resting

4. Robben is in both teams because I think he needs to be match fit/sharp for the cup final and therefore needs playing time

Yep, but they can easily swap roles in the game. SWP did alright in the centre before and I am not yet convinced that Diarra can play well in the centre in front of the holding midfielder.
