Not a great display but still pretty good. Back three maintained their recent form - AC looked so cool out there - and RLC and CHO were outstanding, as was Jorginho. Should have scored a few more, but one was enough.

Well we needed to win and we did, so job done in that regard.

What a downgrade on our wingbacks. Dave and Alonso were so slow and ponderous. It was infectious, everyone seemed to be affected.

Havertz not helping his cause to keep his place neither.

Boring but job done.

So big advantage Juve for top spot. Win or a draw and it is theirs.

We need to win by a two goal margin, hard ask, to gain the head to head advantage.

If we were to win by a single goal becomes interesting. So far:

 

Malmo 0-3 Juve

Juve 1-0 Chelsea

Zenit 0-1 Juve

Juve 4-2 Zenit 

Plus 7 GD

 

Us:

Chelsea 1-0 Zenit

Juve 1-0 Chelsea

Chelsea 4-0 Malmo

Malmo 0-1 Chelsea

 

Plus 5 GD

 

1 goal win for us would tie GD at 6, but with them scoring more we would have to better their home win vs Malmo away at Zenit, again tough ask.

 

Basically beat them by 2 or more at home or be ready for Bayern or PSG lol...

I enjoyed that performance and our general play to be honest 🙂 a bit wasteful but was good to see how easily we were able to break through the lines.

Good to remember that these were our second choice wing backs!

The crowd were very vociferous throughout, small ground , this had the potential to be a banana skin. Our ball retention was very good, they had zero shots on target. As a result we negotiated this tricky tie with ease.  It would have been nice to score more but you do have to give credit to Malmo for that too. Though Havertz does have to do better in one on one situations. 

Last night was about getting the job done, and we did it. Some good forward play, Loftus Cheek put himself about enough, and the win. 

What actually made the difference was CHO and Ziyech swapping sides at half time. I've just read that Tuchel said it had been the idea of his assistants. Fantastic work!
