Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea Manager

At least we've seen some goals .... Poch's teams have scored 31 in 19 games ... Potter's teams only managed 33 in 31 games.

I know things are tough right now, but I for one am not going to get all misty eyed about Potter regardless of how bad things get. If I'm going for a stroll down memory lane, then Mourinho, Ancelotti, Conte or Tuchel will do for me 🙂

My issue is is we stood by him for months of bad results and clueless football then decide to sack him when both are (all be it slowly) starting to look up a bit more.

And to it for a Lampard return was just baffling, even more considering Bruno was still at the club.

Title is misleading (so far...only seen first 45mins)

The interview isn't segmented well or at all tbh. First 45mins is about "football coaching and how it affects mental health"

Potter at Chelsea is great input into that discussion.

But "chelsea story" it definitely isn't that, well not first 45mins.

Will watch the rest later...maybe it will lead to that.

Was a slow day at work yesterday so I put this on to listen in the background. He put me to sleep! Lucky my snoring woke me up quickly.

Had to turn it off. Nice fella but his voice is sleep inducing

He seems like a decent and intelligent guy.

Only take away from the first 45mins about Chelsea is he wasn't ready for it and he underestimated pretty much everything involved before signing as it was all a rush.

Hopefully next 45mins actually has more about his Chelsea life.

Always came across as a decent and likeable man, but it was clear early on that he was out of his depth. The enormity of the job was too big for him to handle.

Maybe the payout from us was too great, but it's surprised me he hasn't taken on a new job more than 18 months after his departure from us.

I haven't got round to watching the second half yet but I agree mate. It was an enormous change for him and he definitely wasn't ready for that type of "step up", and even though he knew it was a big step up, he didn't expect it to be that massive.

Part of the sacking settlement was that he was paid for 18 further months. Now expired. Though I doubt that's why he hasn't returned. I suspect he was burned by the experience - who wouldn't be? - and he's being ultra careful. And, tbh, there have been few truly attractive jobs available.

Reminded me a bit of Roy and Moyes at Liverpool and United respectively, just couldn't adapt his mindset to the step up. Was getting the impression he was somewhat content when we narrowly lost at home to Arsenal for example, which I would somewhat understand if the performance was decent or it was a fluke in an otherwise good run but it was one of the worst displays we ever had in the midst of one of our worst runs in the modern era.

It is a shame really as tactically he is very talented and we were even starting to see it a little bit here post Enzo's arrival but yeah it felt the whole demands of the club was too much for him.
