I’ve heard rumours of £40 million!

Let’s keep the tradition of spending money on midfielders/youth players and have no money left over for a left winger or centre back. Then make do with the next Alejandro Tosin come transfer window deadline.

I thought there was going to be a change in tack, prioritizing transfers that will move the needle not more potential?

This outfit is like a fat kid in a candy store grabbing any player that’s available to stop anyone else from getting them first.

Priority is get a ‘top’ goalkeeper, centre back, and left winger. Then and only then should we even look at any other positions.

Totally agree, I posted earlier take care of the first team and the squad takes care of itself. We have 3 glaring problems that you listed, which one does Barco fix? None!

I didn’t want the signing before I heard the fee. £40m ain’t no bargain and goes a long way to getting us a decent keeper.

Reckon they want to sign him now vs after the World Cup where his value could double. Don’t mind that should we loan him back to Strasbourg.

Hasn't he made like 2 appearances for Argentina so far?

Brighton set to get a nice little windfall from the sell.on clause.

Surely if Strasbourg paid £8 million, we're not going to pay £40million to our sister club for him?

Or is it a just way of giving Brighton and Strasbourg some money ?

Strasbourg 63% possession.

No shots on target.

Losing 2-0

Another LB again? We have 2 non performing ones in Gittens & Garnacho, and already signed Quenda. We need to bin 2 to sign another one.

Could have done better defensively on Mainz's goals and chances, he looked slow to react and was dispossessed easily for at least one shot.

Was at the heart of everything good in attack and nearly scored a sensational goal too.

If you've seen our club structure, it's basically taking money from the left pocket and giving it to the right pocket.

Don’t forget all those agents in between creaming off the top. Makes you sick.

It’s not just us then?

Both clubs infected with the same brand of terrible football.

Whose idea was it again? Seriously who at Blueco has decided this is how both clubs are gonna play?

Let’s not let thumping port vale paper over how poor we have been in recent weeks. Sunday could be embarrassing.

Thats a nice way of putting it.

He looked like a lost child in all honesty. Strasbourg are a mess.

Strasbourg ended up with 66% possession and 2 shots on target and no goals

The opposition had 6 shots on target, and scored 2 goals.. Yeah, looks like the same possession based sh*t football

Majority of Mainz’s efforts were individual errors from trying to play out from the back.

Despise the state of football.

Well yes. Emphasis being on ‘top’ left winger.

I understand that Quenda is more of a right winger who can play left.

He has been profiled by the club as a LW. Can’t see how you develop a 19 yr old Estevao & a 19 yr old Quenda at the same time if they are both competing for the RW role. From all accounts it seems the club is after primarily a “10” capable of playing on the wings. The whole LW, 10, RW situation is a mess presently, and it will get worse in the summer with Quenda coming on board.

Depends who you choose to believe. F. Romano says 10.

Barco starts for Strasbourg tonight. 2-0 down to Mainz in the first leg. Big task to pull this back.

Just seen him in the tunnel dwarfed by a mascot.🤭

Strasbourg 2-0 at HT. Doing well. Barco reminds me of Billy Gilmour.
