...because this place clearly needs another Robben thread.

Anyway, thank you Arjen for all you did at Chelsea, it may not have worked out as planned, but great memories left none the same.

Probably remembered most for his injuries, but heres a few other snap shots to sum up his time at our club..

We appreciate the young gentleman has just left the building and feelings are running high, but be careful not to let dewey-eyed sentimentality spill over into irrational, emotively charged statements.

Our legal team are watching this thread, and if anyone so much as utters the phrase, "Arjen Robben - Chelsea legend" we shall be all over them like a severe case of herpes.

Yours faithfully,

Sir Renwick Arse-Largely QC

No way was he a legend, man that word gets thrown about too much. But he was a great player when fit, adn a great great winger. Had his flaws, didn't tackle much, adn rarely tracked back, but he was quick and he seemed to eb really passionate when scoring for the club

I will never forget the excitement of those 20 games he played in his first season and the great goals he scored...you really thought we had a player that could scare any team in the world...the following two seasons we only saw flashes of it, but he still played a major part in our success over the last three seasons...legend he is not, but has to go down as one of our best bits of business...doubled our money and he gave us some real entertainment!

Nice thread for German-Blue - although I expect he spends a lot more time on the Real Madrid fans forum these days.

Good to remember his best bits but for the record, on the whole, I don't think we'll miss him.

We've missed him against Pompey and Liverpool already (although he didn't usually perform against Liverpool)

It wasn't just Liverpool though - there were plenty of big games (and some not so big) where Robben never turned up.

I did say "on the whole" we won't miss him and I'll stand by that. There will always be times you will miss a player like Robben for what he perhaps could have brought to a game. But now we have Malouda and Joe who can both play on the left and be more consistent threats than Robben ever was.

I will however be prepared for the first post after Robben scores his first goal for Madrid with the inevitable "Look what we're missing"!!!

Couldn?t answer as I was on holidays, far away from my computer. No Im not on any Real Madrid forums now (as Nibs wrote).

Farewell to Arjen Robben ! Good luck at Madrid

Im sure he will do great there. Maybe its the best as his body isnt made for the EPL.

Sad that we lose one of the most talented players on the planet.
