If you were starting up a rock band (or any other kind) what would you call it? There are some terrific ones in existence.

Gaye Bikers On Acid, has to be an all-time great name.

Napalm Death, is cool too (or maybe hot).

Flock Of Seagulls (immortalised in Pulp Fiction!)

Lesbian Dopeheads On Mopeds (I didn't make that up but wish I had!)

Fine Young Cannibals

Cat Rapes Dog (hopefully a soul band)

They Might Be Giants

Gallon Drunk

Stabbity Stabbity Stab Stab Stab

Badly Drawn Boy

Funkadelic

Anybody got any good ideas?

I always like the name 'The Dead Kennedys'

As for what I would call my band - if I could get away with it I would call it 'Levi Stubb's Tears' or 'Natty Ride'

Some years ago my wife was in an all woman band called Annie's Other Business. Three of them and me started playing together and got bookings so we called ourselves Bit On The Side. The other members of AOB didn't like that so they all fell out, but Bit On The Side carried on for some years and WE WERE GOOD!

In my teens, me and four mates were talking about starting a band and we decided one night that it would be called Dicky Delightful and the Magnificent Seven, which, in a dope haze we all thought was so so funny, being only five of us! Tee Hee!

( I expect you really had to be there)

At school the band I was 'in' was called 'Sexton Blake' after the comic book detective. The reason I nwrite 'in' was because I couldn't sing or play any instruments but I wrote the lyrics. So I was a backroom member!!

Emma Royd & The Bleeding Piles would be a classy name for a band - especially if they got a residency at the 'Bunch Of Grapes' pub. You know the one, next door to the boxing gym that's run by Bob Binn & Wee Vin.
