It is finished... where's the eight points gap?

Featured Replies

Never say never, but it's going to be real hard to catch Arse from here. I just can't see where they're going to slip up.

I just hope we don't finish 3rd. Because suddenly the press will be talking about the 'Big 2' like they always used to.

If we hadn't dropped four points in the last two games I would of been confident about now, since as long as we beat Manchester United and Arsenal (no easy feat I know, but it's certainly do-able) then we'd of been in a really strong position right now. As it is? Not a chance. Dropping four points to Portsmouth and Liverpool at home at such a crucial time is a bit embarrassing too.

it aint over. weve gotta play both manyoo and the arse at home yet, the arse have to play the dippers at home and manyoo away (i think). so theres a lot can change.

I agree that there are a few more twists and turns yet before the champions are crowned. Arsenal will drop points and we need to go on a 12 game winning run which is'nt out of the question.

Who knows how Arsenal will handle the run in. But we of course are hoping for 2 teams to slip up not just the one, i know who's position i'd rather be in but while theres a chance we have to believe.

If we did win all 12 games it would certainly throw the cat amongst the pigeons.

I think at a similar stage last year JM said if we win all our games we'd win the league and that proved true unfortunately we could'nt manage that at the time with the squad crumbling around us. The difference this year is coming into what we like to call the business end of the season the squad is getting stronger and the players coming back should be fresher so hopefully......... 128.gif

3 when we loss to the gunners & Manure

2 dropped against Portsmouth, 2 against Liverpool.

Otherwise,we would be leading

8 points dropped.........I'm thinking more Villa at home / Everton at home / Blackburn at home Liverpool at home. Villa and Everton was schoolboy errors from a management point of view, Blackburn we had a perfectly good goal disallowed and should have shown a bit more 'bottle' against Liverpool.

It's certainly not over for sure, there are more than 8 points left to play for! It's a long shot but can you imagine if the team stop playing like it's still there for the winning and besides loosing to us both manu and the arse loose two other games. Our players would never forgive themselves and the fans would go mental.

No title race is straight forward when its as close as this one is.

Quite right. It's only teams like Liverscum that don't bother to compete for a league they knew they never had a chance of winning in the first place.

Arsenal get a few injuries we could be in with a shout considering we have the option now of a full squad. J.T. back next week hopefully, Drogs, Essien, Lamps, and its still open. Im optimistic .

Should we concentrate on the C.L. ?

Arsenal get just one injury, Adebeyor, and the wheels could fall off their bus.

Anything could happen, but we've been predicting Arsenal's downfall all season and it just hasn't happend. They have only lost once all season..........

If it isn't over it won't be easy but so what? We will still go all out against arse and manure and we should beat most of the others anyway. So if the others slip we should be in good shape.

Nah, they will choke as long as we keep up the pressure.

The quads on again, this time of year like the last 4 seasons, which club can say that ?

Come on Chelsea

And if my aunt had a prick she'd be my uncle.

And if Togo had qualified for the ANC then le Arse would have lost Asda-buyer

And if Ronaldo had broken his leg or caught aids then the Mancs would (ok might) be up sh*t creek.

And if St Stevie G fell downstairs and broke his stinkingg neck I'd laugh my (clean this morning, honestly) socks off.

Another stupid Octv*lle thread.

I'm not suggesting that we give up. I'm just observing that even if we won all of our last 12 matches, which is the only thing we can do to influence things, we would probably not get enough points to win the league.

I'm with you there. It will take a minor miracle for us to win the league this season. Which, I think was the case even before Jose's departure .. things weren't looking too promising back then, as I recall.

  • 2 weeks later...

If we win all our remaining matches, and Manure and Arse lose all of there's, then we will win.

Heard it here first.

Save all that pessimism and worry for when we go into those few weekends where we fight it out with the big boys.

Until then, im worried about the greeks and nothing else scarfcfc.gif
