All is quiet in the build up to the final - lot of nerves about (personally I am bricking it!) so here is a little something just for fun.

Quite simply everyone has 11 votes to pick their starting XI for the final

Paulo - Carv - JT - A Cole

Ballack - Essien - Lamps

Joey - Drogba - Malouda

Normaly i'd have Bridge but because its manure i'd rather have cole.

Im torn about leaving Maka out because he could be vital if he plays well but if he lets his age show he could be a week link.

so far it's unanimous that

Cech, Terry, Carvalho, Lampard, Ballack and Drogba should start

followed by Ashley Cole, Essien and Joe Cole

Leaving two places to be filled with Makalele, Ferreira, Kalou, and Anelka in the running. For me it should be Ferreira and Kalou for the following reasons:

The key argument surrounds what to do at right back and up front.

For me there is simply no question that a specialist right back should be used for this game. We can boss in the centre of midfield so I see no reason why we would need our right back getting forward from the start of the game. If we go a goal down we can always shift Essien to right back and take Ferreira off. I just DO NOT want Ji Sung getting in on the left on an early counter and us chasing the game and allowing Ronaldo the chance to score on the counter.

This means Essien in the centre of the park where he belongs - Maka is too slow (despite his instinctive positioning) for a game that promises to be extremely fast paced.

Up front, I think Kalou is our man. More instinct than logic. I just feel that he is young, primed and quick and that he'll be all over the loose ball, whereas I feel Anelka is a better option to come on and change things if that is necessary.

I'm not too bad at the moment. Got flights and insurance sorted so come Tuesday morning I'll probably be a wreck and won't be able to concentrate on anything else.

Then my line up will thrill you because Ferreira would be mainly responsible for Park Ji sun.

Ronaldo has a free role, if Ferriera is selected to start at RB, Ronaldo will be instructed to target him.

I cannot see AG selecting Ferriera at RB, he obviously has not faith in him, else why take Essien out of his central (inside right ) position to cover the RB position ?

Its as if AG wants to change to a 3-1-3-3 formation (but he is too scared to commit to it, so to cover himself he starts with a 4-3-3 formation with Essien at RB, knowing dam well he wont stay at RB for long, he just lines up at RB, so when the game is under way we line up 3-1-3-3.

How can i have faith in Ferriera when AG has none. 317.gif

If that is the case then I think we have found the Grant strength that JOse's melons and Lofty are looking for!! He as a spy in Old Trafford who tells him Fergie's starting XI before the game icon_wink.gif

I woud play Ferreira without a second thought on Wednesday.
