Posted August 24, 200816 yr Newcastle in £12m swoop for Chelsea winger Malouda By Daniel King Daily Mail http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...er-Malouda.html Newcastle are ready to spend £12million on Chelsea winger Florent Malouda if Stamford Bridge boss Luiz Felipe Scolari signs Robinho from Real Madrid. And Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has sanctioned a late transfer window spree which could bring in Malouda and up to three more players. Florent Malouda Change of allegiance: Florent Malouda scores for Chelsea against Newcastle United in May When ex-Chelsea captain Dennis Wise, Newcastle's executive director (football), approached his former club about Malouda, he was told that the France star would be allowed to leave only if a deal for Robinho was completed. Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon gave conflicting signals last night, in one breath accusing Robinho of disrespect for trying to secure a move so close to the start of the Spanish season, and with the next insisting that Real have no desire to keep players who want to leave. Robinho Robinho: On his way? Chelsea are believed to have offered about £20m for the Brazil forward. Newcastle, meanwhile, have also targeted Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos, Wigan winger Antonio Valencia and the Czech Republic pair, Michal Kadlec of Sparta Prague and Marek Jankulovski of AC Milan. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bad bad bad idea, Malouda is just starting to turn good. Drogba took a while too...give the boy him time. Edited August 24, 200816 yr by MHedges
August 24, 200816 yr Well that just about proves it, the Geordies are total mugs in the transfer market.
August 24, 200816 yr He looked great pre-season, but I'm not sure that counts for anything. He and Anelka were the weak links (surprise!) against Portsmouth too
August 24, 200816 yr He looked great pre-season, but I'm not sure that counts for anything. He and Anelka were the weak links (surprise!) against Portsmouth too unfortunately he looked great last pre-season too. im willing to give him the benefit of the doubt this season as it does normally take a season for foregin players to fit in. but if hes no better by xmas then he should go.
August 24, 200816 yr I'd like to see him stay. At least one more season. If Sweepy is off, then I think we will need to keep him. Otherwise, unless we sign Binho, we could be looking pretty light with wide players Scott

If either one of these deals happen we are getting Robinho.

August 26, 200816 yr Form temporary, class permanent, and we have one of the master motivators of football in charge of our club. If they are gonna give us what we paid, take it, but otherwise give Malouda another chance. Replace Sheva and let that be that.

August 26, 200816 yr Form temporary, class permanent? Then did Sheva just have a really long spell of good form in Italy? :D Haha, point taken, mate. I guess I just mean to say Malouda has been a good player in the past, and I'd like to see him a full season under Scolari before I give up hope.
