  13. R.I.P. Kevin Keegan.
  14. I support Chelsea and already don't like him. But, I can be swayed. Auburn Blonde hair dye and high heel football boots will help his cause in the EPL. The sneaky "son of a bitch" comment while hiding with his team mates deserved the bitch slap Bellingham gave him. And, yes, Wisey might have done the same thing but he would have been right up in Bellingham's face taking him on.
  15. Well I pray he could still come here and share our treatment table with Reece James. It's a big table that gets lots of use.

  18. This will be excellent, exactly what we need. Just, who are all these clubs that are going to buy these players. Plus with our annual amortisation costs don't we have to sell this dross in smaller blocks over a number of years?
  19. Many moons ago I went to a charity event in Gourock where Kevin Keegan and Doddie Weir were the main attractions. Pair of them were first class lads. Utterly down to earth and self deprecating. Keegan ripped the piss out of himself for his Fergie rant and had time for absolutely everyone at the event regardless if they were putting their hand deep in their pocket for the charity or not. Definitely one of the good guys and for us older fellas a reminder of the days when we didn't feel so utterly detached from the players on the pitch.
  20. Here's a whole team plus full bench of players signed by BlueCo that I wouldn't particularly miss if they were sold/released :
  21. Clubs will low-ball us because they know we want to sell.
  22. I think we’ll raise closer to £400 million tbh and if Enzo goes it could be half a billion Getting rid of 80% of the following ………..Jackson, Guiu, Delap, Disasi, Bada, Garnacho, Jorgensen, Gusto, maybe Neto, Tosin, a few of the youngsters and some of our perennially loaned players (DDF, Anselmino, Paez etc) could raise £260 million no problem. Probably a lot more. Most of the above will know what it’s like being in a bomb squad because some of their mates were in ours. Most of them will welcome a move. I expect the club to be a bit more flexible than they were previously as regards to getting deals over the line. The last thing Alonso needs are half a dozen bomb squad in the building.
  23. The more time this takes and the more I think about it and look at him, I'm thinking we could do better.
  24. If we're going for Estavao and Quenda RW, Palmer CAM, Rogers, Gittens LW. There's no real space for him.
  25. Match made in heaven.
  26. I don’t know about that actually. Xabi Alonso is in a different stratosphere to Enzo Maresca/Liam Rosenior, so we’ve upgraded our Manager. Rogers is light years ahead of any of Pedro Neto, Alejandro Garnacho or Jamie Jermaine Bynoe Gittens. So our LW area is hugely upgraded. Hato was outperforming Cucu anyway toward the end of last season plus I’d imagine Quenda gets a lot of time as a LWB this season. Sideways step at this position at worst. Then there isn’t a cat in hells chance Palestra could be anymore useless than Gusto so once again an upgrade! Add into that we could potentially land Lacroix, he’d instantly be our 2nd best CB behind Colwill who himself is like a new signing after missing all last season. Couple it with no European distraction/squad rotation this season. We should be competitive as a minimum.
  27. Some reports Spurs are interested.
  28. Xabi has also changed his set piece coach, hes not been idle.
  29. Four players sold plus the compensation from City and Meresca
  30. Note that our incoming transfer fees only reach £140m if you include the possible add-ons. Bullsh*t as usual. Barring a miracle, the squad will (again) almost certainly be weaker than the one we had last season. And we will have spent an awful lot of money to accomplish that.
  31. RIP Double K 💔
  32. Rodgers Deal....i think this shows Eghbali talking owner to owner and then passing a little credit to the underlings, standard procedure for top brass. One thing is for sure there is clearly a point where juniors like Stewart & Winstanley have to pass things on to higher powers. I mean Villa's top man would have been insulted if Chelsea had sent one or both of those clowns to meet him. Also If Eghbali has had some success here, he may well like to involve himself on other big deals. A player Agent and indeed owner of a selling club will likely appreciate dealing with the organ grinder even if it is just a quick lunch and handshake. We cant be sending these two (Stewart & Winstanley) unshaven greasy urchins if we want to be taken seriously. if this deal falls through Eghbali's relationship with Villas man will be pushed to and maybe beyond the limit. Its no place for juniors.
  33. Don't get your hopes up about our Sporting Directors being sidelined. !!! On Thursday, after the 2-1 loss, a combined effort involving the club's sporting directors, head coach Xabi Alonso and co-owner Behdad Eghbali helped secure a deal. Even Chelsea captain Reece James was making the club's case from within the England camp, while those close to the negotiations say Cole Palmer was also aware of developments as, in Rogers' words, "one of my best friends in life". It was a well-planned operation involving figures across the club and resulted in Rogers being signed in under 48 hours. The deal was underpinned by the strong relationship between Chelsea co-owner Eghbali and Aston Villa owner Nassef Sawiris, with the agreement being finalised on Saturday afternoon, shortly before Rogers took to the field in England's bronze-medal victory over France.
  34. Yeah, The last thing the club needs is Eghbali acting as a fecking Sporting Director. I can imagine Rogers being convinced to join us by Alonso and probably more wages, but FFS keep that no nothing about football eejit out of it..
  35. From 1973:
  36. I still don't really know how good Lacroix is, but I can't help but think bringing in Antonio Silva and John Stones would have been a much better deal. I feel like that would massively improve our defence.
