  2. I was half expecting an offer for Mudryk, seeing as we gazumped them initially to sign him 😎

  4. Every time I've seen there is an un-read post in this thread in the last two weeks I look at it, hoping it is confirmation of his sale. Got to be right eventually LOL !
  5. Won’t be surprised if we get a last offer from Arsenal for him. They are very thin on options having gotten rid of Martinelli, Trossard, Jesus, Vieira, Nelson & Nwaneri, and only bringing in Tzolis.
  6. I'm pretty sure he didn't play even one minute of our pre-season under Alonso as they had already decided to sell him. <EDIT: Yes, here you go : https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/article/pre-season-briefing-2026-27-part-four-the-stats >

  8. He gives anything other than the bare minimum and people start pretending like he’s turned a corner. He gets paid £200k a week and I don’t consider him a better option than Acheampong on that right hand side. Cut the losses and easily replaceable.

  12. Yeah, hopefully they'll call their demotions as transferring to new roles/duties. Like the Trump administration.😂 They should genuinely just stick to selling players.
  13. 14 million for a guy who's confidence was shot after missing open goals and sitters in preseason. Never chelsea class, but good luck in Germany.
  14.    Sexyfootball reacted to a post in a topic: Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea Manager
  15. I'm half expecting an announcement of "new duties" for at least a couple of the sporting director department ... They've done a good job at getting rid of the dross they signed, but the fact they signed them in the first place surely now has to have some accountability, especially given the cumulative multi-year impact on sporting achievement and commercial revenue.
  16. Western swing. One of the many influences on what was to become rock'n'roll. Bob Wills was massively important until grog overtook him.
  17. To sell him later
  18. It happens to the best of us as the years mount up.
  19. Well, it wouldn't be far from the truth.
  20. It wouldn’t surprise me if the club tries to quietly roll out a “restructure” narrative once the dust settles. It's like night and day vs. the past 4 summers.
  21. It will happen. His absences from the squad say so.

  23. A combination of things. They have obviously had a rethink. They had to. Even they could see the results of the errors of their ways. Enter at the same time a manager who actually has a clue about quality football. A good marriage.
  24. Is this one going right down to the wire, or will we be stuck with the f**ker?
  25.    OTL reacted to a post in a topic: Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea Manager
  26. It's not really a loophole. It's permissible if the arrangement was driven by the player (via agent) and Atalanta; it's not permissible if it was driven by Chelsea. If the player's agent made the proposal to the clubs it would be sufficiently arm's length. As an EU player playing in the EU, UEFA third-party rules cannot be applied in a way that runs foul of EU freedom of movement and employment law. So if Ahanor's agent arranges a loan to Palace, Palace pay wages and separately arranged later transfer to Chelsea, there's nothing wrong. The only way it would be unlawful is if Chelsea told Atalanta they were buying Ahanor on the condition he was loaned to Palace this season, since that would effectively be Chelsea financing the transfer as a third party, which is against FIFA rules.
  27. Yeah, this fixture has come a bit early for us to be much of a threat to them. Especially at their place.
  28. Question marks over Colwill and his form, but I still think Alonso plays him. Martinez Fofana Lacroix Colwill Neto James Lavia Chavarria Palmer Rogers Pedro
  29. Last time we beat them was in 2021, so we're overdue for a win.
  30. We were absolutely not in control. With the midfield we had there was simply no way we could be in complete control, I think. So we went for chaos instead, and ended up outscoring them. Chaos is really fun, at least as long as we end up winning :)
  31. Someone mentioned this in another thread, but it’s hard to believe Alonso’s influence alone is responsible for undoing four years of errors in a matter of weeks. There has to be more at play behind the scenes.
  32. Don't worry, apparently it's off now - according to another Twitter account.
