  2. Disagree. Our last pre-season friendly against Real Sociedad both Neto and Palestra played as the WB. Albeit Neto was RWB. That was what I think Alonso had in his mind for home games. If we played Fulham at home I think Neto and Palestra both would have played. But agree to disagree.
  3. Presume this just inserts a release clause?

  6. It remains to be seen. Alonso isn't spoilt for choice in midfield. It's like saying he doesn't see Gusto as a fullback. I doubt after Tuesday he even sees Gusto as a footballer.
  7. Figured. I said a while back I think Alonso rates him, and there were murmurs that a few players are getting extensions. I think the plan is to have Neto and Palestra bombing down the wings on both flanks, as we saw in preseason.
  8. I don't think he sees James as a CB. I think he now sees him as a DM with back up functionality in the RWB/RB areas
  9. Happy anniversary!
  10. No he wouldn't, that would still be Hato or Pep

  15. If Palestra was fit, Neto would of played LWB so this isn’t true.
  16. Let’s see how it goes. He hasn’t done that bad this season IMO. Of course he’ll frustrate more than he’ll impress but fair play to him City wanted him but unlike Enzo he stayed to fight for his place under Xabi. Ok, I’ll go and get my coat…
  17. Only Hull and Brentford left before the intl break, so no need to rush them back. Surely fully fit for Bournemouth. The problem is, though, will they (Caicedo and Palestra) be called up for meaningless friendlies and useless Nations League matches? Hopefully not. Although if managed properly, they could both be given given limited minutes and this way the intl break would turn into a blessing in disguise as it would get them match fit for Bournemouth. But as always with these sh*tty National Team matches, managers don't really care about clubs and only act in their own interest.
  18. The biggest atrocity to ever happen on the 11th of September.

  20. Year ruined. 9/11 really is a cursed date.
  21. Watched the Hull v Utd game and Hull were all over Utd from the start. They are big, strong and very very motivated. They thoroughly deserved to beat Utd. They start quickly and we need to be ready, right from the kick off. Maybe we just have to outscore them but they defend well and can just push our littleuns off the ball. I think this will be a real hard test.

  24. None of Henderson, Caicedo or Emegha fit apparently. He did mention hopefully Brentford for all three. Palestra not fit either and no mention of "hopefully Brentford", getting a bit frustrated with the lack of info on him
  25. 6-3 Chelsea. We're going to smash a ton of teams this season. TBF, hull look really solid so should be a good test of our attackers.
  26. Looking at the state his car is in he is very lucky to have walked away unharmed.
  27. Same reason I put Hato on the other side. Hull will sit back and counter, we need options to spread the play quickly to break them down.
  28. He signed the 4 year extension because he doesn't have a job at a club. As soon as the right club come in for him he will be gone. Here is his quote you tell me. But Pochettino has admitted there are circumstances that could see him depart before the next World Cup. It could be the federation deciding to sack him, or perhaps a club could arrive with an offer too good to refuse. "Four years is different. Maybe now if someone calls in the future, it’s a different type (of situation). We are excited, we are thinking to spend four years, to the next World Cup. But now it’s a long period.” I would be stunned if he stays until the 2030 WC.
  29. It’s difficult to say because we don’t own how Bohley and the others that are preparing to sell their shares have either restrained or indeed dictated how Clearlake’s wishes are taken forward. If a shareholder has over 75% of the shares they can force through special resolutions get over 90% and you can in effect force other shareholders to sell even if they don’t want to. A “ Concert Party of circa 39% of the shareholding holds significant power At board level it’s likely that each director has the same voting power irrespective of their shareholding. What will almost certainly happen is that if Clearlake take a greater % of the share holding they will want to appoint more directors. Some will argue that this would enable the ownership group to be more decisive others would argue that having all the power is a concern. Every company or partnership I have ever had association with becomes less dynamic when it’s in effect being run by a committee. Remember most of the individuals involved are used to getting their own way. In terms of finances not sure that it will mean that extra cash is injected although in terms of current debt there maybe a different approach, we may see some different faces in the senior management structure and its possible that sponsorship could be taken down a different route. The big one could be a decision re either moving to a new ground or redevelopment of SB. The club took over the ownership of the 1.2 acres of land next to the stadium a few months ago and I understand that the process to relocate veterans is in train.
