I consider players like Mata, Messi, Ronaldo, and to mix it up a bit, John Terry to be quality through and through. Fellaini is just a dirty player who scores a few scrappy goals.

No he isn't quality through and through.

I don't think he does have the ability to track back and be creative at the same time. Him tracking back constantly is making it very hard for him to get going in attack. He has 1 assist to his name all season i think, that doesn't sound very creative to me.

We gotta start playing Mata, we just ain't creative enough right now. Oscar has the pass but not on a consistent basis, that is why i prefer him deeper. Lampards time has come and gone i feel, it's sad but even his goals have dried up. I never like to write the guy off but he is worse than ever this season.

If he is going to be on the bench all the time it makes you wonder why they even bothered to take him on loan, unless it was about adding numbers that is. But from our point of view i don't think we see him as anyone with a future at the club or else we wouldn't have loaned him out to a club that wasn't going to play him much.

I don't think Mikel is the answer long term because i don't think he has enough to his game, but right now he is the best we have so he should be starting more games.

Reading through this thread is kinda sad, i don't rate Mikel but this thread has so much hate in it, what's the point ?

I get your point, i would love to see both playing at Chelsea next season, it would give our squad some much needed strength. We are probably never going to have another season with as many fixtures as this but for the future i would like to have a bigger squad.

It was a nervy match to watch, the attack looked fatigued, it was clear that we had played so many games of late. Nice to get the win playing ugly though, at this stage i'll take any type of win.

A waste of time. It's not just the players that need a break after this monster of a season, but us fans need it as well.

I really want to win this comp. We should be able to rest a few players on Thursday for the second leg against Rubin Kazan. Hopefully the trip to Moscow doesn't take too much out of our players for the game against City on Sunday. I think we look pretty average without Mata and Hazard at the moment so i would rest them on Thursday, even an average Chelsea should be beating Rubin Kazan. Hopefully Lampard plays and get's a goal or 2 so he can get closer to that record.

Well what a depressing weekend this has been. Manure, Man sh*tty, Arsehole, Spuds and Liversh*te all winning with us pathetically losing to Southampton. Defeats i can take, but that wasn't just a defeat, that was a joke of a performance from our lot. Our players only seem to play when it suits them best, their wages should be docked. If i performed as badly at my job as this lot are right now i would be sacked and never hired by anyone ever again, that's how bad they were yesterday. Play for the shirt or piss off.

Whenever i see Benitez talking ( sh*t ) i wish the guy interviewing would just shove the microphone in his mouth. I honestly think it would be the funniest thing i have ever seen.

If we finish 5th or 6th Mourinho arriving would be the only shining light, the problem is is he up for missing a season of Champions League football ? Please come back Jose.

I'm not sure i believe all this tired rubbish, i have always thought it was a mental thing. When you are winning you feel like you can play every game. When you are losing you are tired. It's an easy excuse.

I think this is pointless. You see players getting injured by just turning around these days, why bother risking a player getting injured for 9 months.

Mikel is just not enough for me, we can't ignore 8 seasons of poor performances. I have never seen a player who has had so many poor performances get so many chances.

His agent is probably mentioning teams because he wants to get as much money as possible.
