The Once and For All Poll - Compulsory Participation 4 All
Ah, but with Clarkey by his side.....

The Once and For All Poll - Compulsory Participation 4 All
Er...why did you vote for Hiddink then? Or have you yet to vote? Or is my vote for Sparky actually yours and I'm not allowed to vote on my own poll?

The Once and For All Poll - Compulsory Participation 4 All
Same for me Rob. I think a Sparky / Clarke combo could be the most solid partnership in management since Clough / Taylor, or - come to that - JM / Clarke. My heart would love to see Ruud return but I really think he's been out of the league too long. Scolari could be a laugh but I couldn't face the two years he'd need to settle in

Teams you dislike/hate most?
Blimey. The whole thread has now switched from being a slag-fest into a witch-hunt. Who was the splitter who split behind Lofty's er...lofty back? What was his / her motive? Did they have 'history' with the lofty one? What led them to use terms like 'young lady'? Frankly, the language git-face quotes doesn't sound anything like anyone I've ever heard on here. Sounds to me like a wind-up. Or am I just saying that to put people off the scent....? Where is Hercule when you need him?

The Once and For All Poll - Compulsory Participation 4 All
Right, stick your vote in for the first and very last time as to whom you'd like to see running us next season. The braver ones of you will vote before next Wednesday. I'm sticking JM into the mix just to see what the residual love factor is... Let's take it as read that Clarkey will be available to continue as the no.2 in all options bar the one in which he's the gaffer.

Teams you dislike/hate most?
Following the last 6 pages of this drivel, can I just ask if there's anyone here not prepared to now change their no. 1 hate club to Liverpool? I'm putting them above Leeds now, and considering those Yorkshire c**ts gobbed into the face of my beloved missus, that's going some.

Chelsea Hall of Fame
hmmmmm....I'm still not sure.....! For reference, everyone, this is the sort of quality proposal that the Chelsea Hall of Fame expects from now on from all other "champion's champions", so to speak. Well done ethical. Top man.

How special is Jose?
Frankly, I think the kind of club Jose would want to go to would be one where he could demonstrate in spades the value he brings. By that I mean he would prefer to go to a sleeping giant than an established star so he could effect another Porto or Chelsea, i.e. realise the potential and stun the footie world again. In the world of underperforming sleeping giants, you are looking at the likes of: Liverpool Newcastle Paris St Germain Marseille Lazio AC Milan Any of these would need to have the ambition and the cash to attract him, and personally I also think his ego demands that he works in a capital city so as to be centre of attention. Without knowing their current status in any great detail, my outside bets would therefore be for PSG or Lazio... You heard it here first

Chelsea Hall of Fame
Players considered for nomination so far (by the esteemed panel 'ere in Kingston) follow. Please note that each nominee will need a poster to champion them with a 5 point valediction. Hands up who wants who.... 1. Bobby Tambling 2. Ron Harris 3. Peter Bonnetti 4. Peter Osgood 5. Charlie Cooke 6. Kerry Dixon 7. Dennis Wise 8. Gianfranco Zola 9. Frank Lampard 10. John Terry 11. Petr Cech Other nominees will be considered on the strength of their 5 point support proposals. Only 10 players can be considered for inclusion this inaugural year... Remember, no proposal means no admittance.

Any votes for Tambling? Bluebeard?

Chelsea Hall of Fame
For the record, my 3 would be: 1. Zola. No 1 by a landslide. The greatest individual talent to have ever graced our ground, the greatest sportsman (in a Corinthian, as well as competitive, spirit) and the greatest advert for the sheer enjoyment of football. Despite understudying for Maradonna at Napoli, despite his Italian appearances (and that goal), he will forever be a Chelsea man. By the same token, my beloved Luca can't be - he is a Juve legend first. 2. Wise. Not having ever seen Chopper play live, I'd have to cite Dennis as the most committed Blue I've ever seen. Not the most gifted footballer and certainly short of a few sandwiches upstairs, Dennis was a fantastic captain nonetheless and one of our greatest characters. No-one else was better equipped to bridge football's evolution from the neanderthal 80's to the graceful late 90's and to be heralded by AC Mailan as Europe's best midfielder after a certain goal was his ultimate accollade. I met him a couple of times and each time he left me in stitches - not literally. My Captain, My Chelsea. 3. Dixon. Phenomenal goal machine, great character, Chelsea through and through and one of only about two good things to be associated with the club in the 80's (Nevin being the other). Frankly, he was slightly before my time (my first match live was Dennis') but I felt the aura of King Kerry hang over the bridge until Hoddle joined. Of the current crop, only Lamps and JT deserve our consideration IMHO. Drogba is as much an embarrassment as he is a world-class player, Maka has a Real Madrid pass to contend with, Ricky is fab but still not a Desailly, Joe has yet to show us his best an, of course, A Cole is a c**t. Outside possibilites for me would be Dan the Man, Eidur and Robbie Di but I'm not sure any of them stand really comfortably alongside my 3 above. Waddya think?

Chelsea Hall of Fame
Having just seen the footage of Frank accepting his award for his one hundred goals, I have finally accepted the notion that this is one of our all time greats. Ive always thought he had a little of the journeyman about him but, frankly, I don't always think right. This got me to wondering who would get into an all-time hall of fame for Chels? For me, and this is my thread so play by my rules chums, the key criteria for being a hall-of famer would be: 1. Must be primarily associated with Chelsea (as opposed to previous / later clubs). So sorry Ruud, Marcel, Sparky, Jimmy Greaves etc. 2. Must have shown utter passion for Chelsea, without any room for outsiders questioning his devotion (that's you out, Soxy) 3. Must have been - or 'be' - quality on the pitch (sadly ruling out my beloved Erland) 4. Must have enhanced Chelsea's reputation in the outside world (JT, are you there?) 5. Must be guaranteed to make you feel like a small child if you ever met them (not Mark Stein, therefore, who would make me feel like his older brother) I think we should agree on no more than 10 to kick off with. Give us your top 3 nominations with a small para on each, just for the joy of debate and because it's nearly the close season!

Music cover versions - where the cover improves the original
Yes, by the British Electric Foundation (BEF) which consisted of Martin Ware and a couple of others from Heaven 17 and the original Human League. Their seminal album, Music of Quality and Distinction relaunched Tina turner's career and also has one of my all time fave covers, Bowie's 'Secret Life of Arabia' as sung by Billy McKenzie. By the way, that Nina from the Cardigans is HOT! When she sang 'I want to be your backdoor girl', I came over all funny... (NB 'Funny' is not the name of an 8th dwarf before anyone starts...)

Chelsea - Road to Moscow
That is class. Malouda actually looked quite good in one game....
-
Absolutely Dejected :(
Call me 'Mr Kissinger' if you will, but this character ElNino hasn't actualy said anything offensive enough in this thread to deserve the levels of abuse he seems to be getting. I don't understand what thrills he gets from being here, but he opened up with a show of humility and appreciation for us. Let's try and react to that and not start using his presence to bring up their 80's shame again. And, believe you me, this is from someone who hates scousers! Mike

Vegas: Funny or an Overweight waste of space?
Mate, it should now be perfectly acceptable to go up to the c**t in public and sexually assault him. After all, that's funny....isn't it??? Don't fancy it myself, but I'd be happy to wade in afterwards...
-
The Official 'I dont think i can go to Moscow' thread
I can't justify the cost or the time so I'm out. I remember going to Stockholm and, outside of the game and being at my mate's bar beforehand, the rest of the day was a nightmare - stuck on a runway for 3 hours - return flights cancelled - being treated like sh*t by all authorities etc etc... And Russia would be 100 times worse. England fans who went to Moscow to see the Russia match reported £10 for a beer, £50 for a steak etc etc. Don't be a muppet, just don't go. My solution? MUFC and CFC agree to send U18 squads to Moscow to 'play' the CL final. Whoever wins is irrelevant. Then...a week later at Wembley, or even Villa, both teams meet for a full-on contest for the trophy. Whoever has picked it up at Moscow has to be prepared to relinquish it to the victor. 80k real fans can go (members only), all profits to grass-roots footie, bish bang bosh, everyone's happy and UEFA look like twats. Sign up here!

Vegas: Funny or an Overweight waste of space?
Strangely enough, I've just been talking about this with the wife having read the article yesterday. I'm left with one big question - why the f**k didn't anyone have the bollox to get on stage and deck the twat? The girl was obviously not enjoying it, he was obviously enjoying it far too much and the moment someone uses the term 'fingering', all bets are off. I suspect the masses thought - we've paid dosh to be entertained / I don't understand this / I might be over-reacting to 'out-there' entertainment / don't want to look a twat / etc etc Surely someone must have known the difference between right and wrong and have been prepared to act? What's the worst that can happen? You deck him, save the girl and you get a bit heckled for being a spoilsport? Just call it 'guerilla-answer-comedy', the latest thing don't you know?, and you're away. Vegas - f**k off backto your toilet and w**k yourself dry you fat c**t

MOTM Vs Liverpool 2nd Leg
Good call about Cole and Drogs natch, but I've gone for Essien. The run he made in the second half seemed to remind the team that they were still in the match and pumped them right up. He was awesome in extra time and God knows what the score would have been if he had actually started in midfield. He's my man of the season as well. I think I love him
-
Chelsea Vs Liverpool (2nd Leg)
10 reasons why we'll win tonight: 1. We'll have the best atmosphere ever heard / seen at the Bridge. Better than Bruges 94 (and that would be going some), better than vs Barca, better than Liverpool 97 etc 2. Michael Ballack 3. Michael Essien 4. Drogba will not play like a twat. This is his shop-window match and he will pull his finger out and concentrate on what he's good at. 5. Terry / Carvalho 6. Rafa's idiotic mind-games 7. LFC fans not able to get into the game until 8.15 owing to their normal 'storm the gates / crush their own kids / get arrested / start again' routine 8. Our home record 9. Kalou finding an end product (at last) 10. Joe Cole playing the game of his life Chins up me hearties, we're all going to Moscow. Come on you Blue Boys!!!!

They really are full
Are you sure you're a Liverpool fan? You're far too civilised. Welcome back here whenever mate
-
They really are full
You have to remember that we are quite good at paying ridiculous money for average players as well because we are CFC and for Roman's first 2 seasons had the business nous of a 6 year old. Comparisons on spend don't really work for me (witness Sheva, SWP etc) Join the gang. Fancy Malouda on a free? Nice to have a red on here with a brain, BTW. Let's hope your travelling fans don't let you down tonight (again). Mike
-
30/4/08. Lampard / Ballack / Both?
Assuming both are available for tonight, who do you play tonight vs Liverpool? Der Kaiser, Frankie boy or both? Or neither. I have a growing belief that we have nurtured our own England Lamps / Steve G dilemma within the club with Ballack also finding it difficult to express himself alongside Lamps... So, bearing in mind what Frank must be going through at the mo, what should Grant do?

Lowest of the low
I'm heartened by many of the other red responses to him, my favourite being... Oh give over, drop the football is my life act and show some perspective you deluded c**t-chop I don't know what a c**t-chop is, but it's a fantastic slur of the highest order!
