  1. I'm sure they probably also said we couldn't beat Benfica! I still can't believe it - has anyone ever won anything in such adverse circumstances?!
  2. It must be just my nerves - but just as he was going to kick the ball I thought I saw a slight something that made my nerves absolutely jangle - even on the repeats I can see it! Or is it just that when JT went up to the spot in Moscow I thought "this is destiny, JT to win it for us" and my niece said almost exactly the same thing this time except replacing Drog for Terry... i really don't know how we all survived the nerves!
  3. In an Italian restaurant on my niece's hen night watching on my (other) niece's iphone (as we had watched the whole of the match under the table). Went mental when Drog equalised and by the time of the penalties was so nervous I'm surprised I didn't break my niece's hand! Get nervous watching even now I know it ends well!
  4. Ha ha! Just watching something like worst Euro moments on BBC3 and they said "will there ever be a day when England beat Germany on penalties?" YES THERE WILL - LAST SATURDAY!!!!!!!! Haven't commented on our epic win but Gem more or less summed up my thinking since then - so many times we were down - but never out! I'm almost more nervous each time I watch it! And was it just me or did Drogba nearly slip as he took it?! Still can't believe it - and can't keep coming back here to read everyone's comments and revel in the pictures and videos and just soak up the atmosphere. Love Luiz even more than I did before for his interview and his climbing on the crossbar. Absolutely love him!
  5. I think he just means don't get injured now Drog - and why is this the first he's heard!
  6. Just googled Imber Court - Molesey! Of course that's right, my sister bloody lived there later, how could I forget? I can picture the road now! It takes a while, but with your help my memory got there in the end!
  7. Quite possibly - Met Police sounds right but I also have in my mind the name "Stewart Wrightson" sports ground. Was that another one again? Sorry - just googled this as well and Stewart Wrightson was also in Molesey so I think must've been the same one with different names.
  8. Like others, I used to go and watch them train in the 70s - I can't remember where they were when we first started going but I think it was Mitcham, and then in later years to somewhere near Hampton Court (my memory's bloody awful!) so met everybody in the mid to late seventies teams. But my claim to fame is that Kenny Swain gave us a lift home (well from the training ground to Kingston which was near enough to where we lived) - we found Butch's cardigan that he'd dropped and flagged down Kenny to give it to him to pass on and he offered us a lift! Lovely bloke, but then as I recall they all were!
  9. I dunno I was just going by BBC sport: 2007: No, I'm not making this up. The chicken is running around Ali Al Habsi's penalty area, evading Yakubu's attempts to catch it. I don't think our feathered friend is a fan of the Venky's, do you? 2006: There is a chicken, draped in a Blackburn Rovers flag, on the Ewood Park pitch.
  10. I don't think it was brought out at half time as an official thing - it was released during the first half - presumably as a protest?
  11. Just watched it on iplayer as was out Friday and forgot to record it. Boy, he looked good!
  12. Thanks - yeah I always got the impression the pub was full of Manure fans so was pleased to see a bit of support for us! Last week I think I was the only Chelsea fan in there when we beat Barca - at full time someone shouted "drinks on the Chelsea fan"!
  13. Oh bugger! Don't know how else to share that photo - couldn't see a simple paste photo option sorry!
  14. First time I've tried to share a picture so hope it works. This was the sign in our local tonight - bear in mind it's in the middle of Shropshire, no Chelsea/London allegiance as far as I know - so nice to see for once that not everyone hates us and it made me smile!
  15. Settling down now to enjoy the CL highlights on ITV - will be able to watch and appreciate the nicities rather than just making sure it stayed out and watching the clock.
  16. I'd forgotten how much I really really want to slap Ronaldo - and that's when he hasn't really done anything despicable - it's just looking at him, makes my hand twitchy! Even cancels out my love of Jose - come on Bayern!
  17. It was the way Pepe was pleading with the ref made me think he must be set to miss the final. I found the bit on the BBC site about Bayern but nothing about Madrid - are none of theirs due to miss if they pick up a yellow?
  18. I think they're just contracted to show the Wednesday one at this stage - there's no way they'd have chosen an all foreign one over one with an English team.
  19. My heart has been over-ruled by my head - I was happy to see that go in - especially of course cos it was Arjen!
  20. Does Pepe miss the final if they qualify?
  21. Madrid are letting Munich have a few chances - it's not over yet!
  22. Yeah of course goes without saying that I would rather we won - but by beating Madrid rather than Munich - as I said my head wants Munich and I'm trying to get my heart to see sense and follow my head!
  23. Maybe it will be like last night - 2-0 and come back to 2-2!
  24. My head says no but my heart wants to meet Jose there.
