  1. I thought we did (quite a lot of red wine necked tonight)
  2. I certainly don't agree with booing him - and of course when he plays I want him to do well, but I'd rather he didn't play of course. And I agree about Benitez being the turning point for people turning against Torres. It was for me. Illogical but I did blame him for RDM going and the interim coming.
  3. Funnily enough I was watching the season review dvd of 2005/6 the other night (Jose, Joe Cole, ah happy days - and Frank slamming in goal after goal, well some things don't change, but I digress...) and there were a couple of comments about fans getting on Drog's back over diving and handballing to score. He did get some stick and I do remember occasional frustration in smaller games when he was fairly anonymous. But Torres is completely different - we gave him two years of non-stop support before losing patience FFS. Credit where credit's due, we won on Thursday because of him but as others have said, he's a striker, that's what he should be doing week in week out with only the occasional hiccup.
  4. Off to see the Phonics tomorrow. Small venue (Wolves civic) so should be great!
  5. Usually I think clicking the like button is enough - but this is just so true I had to post how much I liked it as well as hitting the like button.
  6. I thought the same the first time I saw it but tbf to Torres I think he stopped because he was in danger of straying offside.
  7. I feared the worst after their two quick goals (and beforehand too) but once we were two down, even in the first half I thought we were better than I'd expected - still looked shaky at the back but I'd feared complete domination and a humiliating performance. So to go in at 2-0 was a bit of a relief - though I was a bit disappointed that we hadn't sneaked one back. And then he finally brought Hazard on - like everyone I was amazed he didn't start - and wow! I've said for the last couple of seasons that Manure aren't great it's just everyone else is worse - but they were crap today - I would like to know the possession stats for the 2nd half - it was 51% Chelsea overall, and %age of play in each half of the pitch for the second half would be interesting. They just couldn't keep the ball - we stole it so often. Think it's the first time I've been excited over our play for months - it's a nice feeling!
  8. We'll boo who we want, we'll boo who we want, f**k off Benitez, we'll boo who we want!
  9. In November I was thoroughly pissed off, livid, furious. Today I am, if anything, even more pissed off. He has been even worse than I could have thought - his managing, tactics, personality, substitutions (especially those) - even the three amigoes have lost their ability to make me smile. I just browse these pages hoping against hope that the news I most long to see is going to miraculously appear if I just keep refreshing them enough. Last May is a bitter-sweet memory - in time it will become a sweet one again but for the moment I cannot wait for the day he goes - and yet the media are silent, not even suggesting he is the crappest manager ever to be appointed to such a high profile job (apart from when he was appointed to Inter). Sorry I'm rambling but I am just so tired of feeling so depressed about Chelsea - I just want this season to be over.....
  10. BBC had already declared extra time - so I though we'd scored in the first minute of ET and thought we'd have to hold on for 29!
  11. Me too -same reply which didn't really address my points and just read like a press statement. But didn't expect anything more really though it would've been nice if they didn't so peed off that Eden's ban wasn't extended.
  12. Sorry I couldn't get my comment to post at work - the server's so old that this site doesn't work properly. What I was going to say is that while I took great delight (obviously!) in these results, I also think that Benitez is so lucky - any other weekend and the media would be all over how we could only manage to scrape a draw against Brentford and slamming him (hopefully!). Same on Weds, the whole Eden incident distracted the media from the piss poor result, performance, tactics and substitutions. I can'tt believe that RA has failed to notice though!
  13. Suarez captain? What a good example. And how was Brad Jones not given at least a yellow? And they equalize - damn!
  14. Have signed - worth a try! It's beyond a joke now - not that I was ever laughing!
  15. Exactly! Always stay calm and just present the facts! I was only joking about being rude :)
  16. I've also written to the FA along similar lines to Backbiter - thanks for that. I resisted the temptation to call them clueless muppets or stronger and kept it very professional. God it was difficult though.
  17. Have taken Moi’s advice so haven’t read the whole thread but just want to say a few things: a) Was (naively I know) surprised at the media frenzy this morning. But surprisingly most of the comments I saw on the BBC website were criticising the ball boy. I say surprisingly not because I think he shouldn't be criticised but because I thought everyone would be Chelsea bashing. b) Really enjoyed listening to Pat Nevin this morning on Radio 4 - talked a lot of sense. I love that man - and thanks to Dorset for posting the transcript enabling me to enjoy it again. c) Fully expected the media now to finally question the interim’s ability or rather lack of it – but no –how crap does he have to be? d) Sooo pissed off – this season just gets worse. e) I seem to recall, a long long time ago – maybe about 1975 - the Fulham goalie, Peter Mellor accused a Chelsea ballboy of not giving the ball to him for a goal kick quickly enough – not to time waste as such but in order to allow the Chelsea defenders to get back before he took it. He snatched the ball out of the ball boy’s hands and was booed for the rest of the match. I remember him being quoted in the paper next day accusing Chelsea of doing this deliberately. Does anyone else remember this? f) If I can remember this, why can’t I remember where I park my car in the morning?
