  1. And we decorated the living room and had our rattles - pandemonium! And I'm fairly sure the drinking started at 10 too!
  2. I remember being invited to a birthday party on the day of Leeds Sunderland Cup Final and saying to my mum that I didn't want to go but she made me! I overheard the latest score when Sunderland had scored and leapt in the air and all the "girly" girls rolled their eyes at me!
  3. That's all very well for the top 4 but in theory the FA Cup should be of interest to all teams - that's what can make it special. Someone like Wigan (without being patronising) should be really excited.
  4. And the Gorgeous One and bums and chests for us women!
  5. Their website seemed very busy - it'll be popular - as they've said alot of people don't want to pay £50-odd a month but would still like to be able to see premier league football. A cheaper alternative is bound to attract interest but I've no idea how many they have to sell to break even.
  6. The theme tune was great though - Beautiful Day.
  7. I think it's a shame and agree it's to do with the fact that BBC don't cover it now. And it's not the last game of the season now, wrapping the season up. I remember when coverage started at about 10 in the morning and had features on the footballers' families, fans, how the teams had got to the final - and the papers all had pages and pages of stuff. I kept a 4 page pull-out when I was a kid of terrace chants - there was two pages of Chelsea and two of - ? Leeds I think - it would've been the only final that fitted I guess, I would've been 8.
  8. Think it may be new - the sports bit certainly is - from August. Give them a ring to ask them - it's probably easier than trying to find out on their website.
  9. Both. With BT broadband you get BT TV including the sports bit and can also watch sport online or on your phone/tablet as well. I looked into it but as I'm in the sticks it's not available on TV here. But would be tempted otherwise. It's the same price as our current provider but you get BT TV as well for the same price. I might consider it anyway but hubby says he can't be arsed to change email addresses!
  10. Shame whoever did it couldn't spell Shield! Just noticed that!
  11. Agree totally about the substitutions - unbelievable! And I too commented that he should have put Turnball on over Benayoun! On a lighter note - I thought Luiz was hilarious when he went over to AVB with Holtby to listen to the tactical talk - love him!
  12. FWIW BBC website - "Frank Lampard has described Jose Mourinho as "one of, if not the, greatest manager in world football" and that it would be a "great thing for the club" if he was appointed Chelsea manager. Real Madrid boss Mourinho is the favourite to take over at Stamford Bridge from interim manager Rafael Benitez at the end of the season." No context so could be he's just been asked what he thinks - and what else would he say?
  13. Ah but I don't let my husband get a word in edgeways either - but that's because he's a West Ham fan so talks crap!
  14. Draining for the fans or the players?! Lol!! But yeah, the players seem to be coping extremely well - but it's all the off-pitch things I find exhausting - today was mentally exhausting, refreshing the BBC football page to see if they'd announced a replacement, and dreading that it'd be Jose!
  15. See, this is what I meant by I should leave Davey to make my point - I try and just say Rooney's past his best but DB delves into the fragments of my mind and comes up with all this sh*t! That's what I meant to say!
  16. I just think like ilovechelsea that it strikes me as going for a big name rather than anything else - very much a la Torres. There are far better players with less baggage to go for - I really wouldn't touch him.
  17. Yeah I only got home at about 7.15 and then necked down a curry I had put on and spent the first half burping away regretting the speed I'd eaten it! Definitely a funny old season! And yeah I really had knots in my stomach all day thinking about Jose being a Manure - it's funny when he left here I thought he might well end up there one day but the thought of him doing it now after flirting with us was unbearable - I really thought it would be unbearable! Someone earlier said they thought we'd made a pact with the devil to win the CL last year and that seemed to make sense........ Benitez, Jose, Robbie, et al
  18. I find supporting Chelsea absolutely exhausting - there was I gearing up to worrying about playing Spurs and I had to find extra mental agility to worrying about Jose going to Manure! Added to the worry of Jose not coming home. And the worry of the Inept One staying. And it will be strange when we're not playing every three days! Just think - a whole week between matches - bizarre!
  19. Well my non-drinking resolution came to nought! Held on til half time but not long after. And was convinced we were going to lose it at the last. Like everybody else, couldn't believe Benayoun coming on - WTF!! We really should've got the full three points, But it was an entertaining match. Can't believe the stress on my heart today has been all round - I felt sick at the thought of Jose at Manure - after all his flirting and fluttering his eye lashes at us, to lose him to them would've been heartbreaking. This season has been so difficult - keep wishing we could fast-forward to next season. And how strange will it be not having a game every three days?
  20. Nooo! 1) He's past his best 2) He's an argumentative twat 3) Please let us move for up and coming rather than over the hill "names" 4) I've had too much red wine to think of the other reasons 5) But I'm sure there are loads
  21. Still got everything crossed until the absolute, 100%, official, gold-plated, gilt-edged, signed sealed and delivered assurance!
  22. I said I'd be really nervous by tonight but because of the whole worry about Jose going to Manure - ON TOP of tonight's game, my stomach has been in a knot all day. I was going to stay off the booze but not sure if I will - If we're winning by half time, I might be a bit more relaxed but it not I can see me caving in. COME ON YOU BLUES!! ps I can't believe how many times this season I've been concentrating on off the field things (or non-football anyway) - Robbie being sacked, Benitez coming, Benitez staying, Jose comng/or not, Jose going to Manure, Eden and the ballboy incident, Suarez and the biting............
