I must have watched a different game. He was slow, outwitted, and didn't defend for most of the first half. The only time we got forward down the left was when JC switched with him early in the second half. If he is still there next season it should be as a cone on the training pitch so Scott Sinclair can practice his dribbling skills...

A. Cole for me. He did nothing wrong defensively and put in some good backpost headers and he even managed to get past Malouda and cause the scum some problems down the wing...

Funny but I disagree strongly. I'm more inclined to blame Vidic and Tevez, the mongoloid twirp, rather than one of our own players. But that's probably just me. Supporting Chelsea rather than United. Defo Tevez acted like the cheating inbred argy he is. But he didnt lift DD's hand to slap Vidic. If he was on the pitch after ET Terry would have been #6 on the penalty list and thus maybe not required. His antics over the seasons have caught up with him as far as the media and referees go, they wont take his sh*t no more. Disagree there Coco, as captain I reckon JT was insisting he take one of the five penalties. Don't forget Essien was also there but he didn't/wasn't allowed to step up...

I don't know whether to be pissed off or proud. Pissed off at the team that was selected. Playing Essien at right-full was just an invitation to Ferguson to push Ronaldo to the left and play Rooney and Tevez together up front. Pissed off at picking Malouda over Kalou, which meant we started the game with ten men. Malouda constantly lost the ball, jogged around the halfway line without offering any threat going forward or any help to Cole in defence. Their goal came from Lamps having to come across and close down Brown at a throw-in, that should have been Malouda's job. But, I'm proud that after 35 minutes, and after Peter took off a sublime double save that the Cat would have been proud of, we pushed the bar stewards right back. Our midfield began passing the ball. Essien got forward and forced the diving cheat back into his own half and we dominated for most of the second half. Drogs, Lamps and Ballack were all unlucky. The linesman was a complete c**t for not giving a penalty to JC. And for those of you blaming Drogba, have another look at the game. When we were under the cosh in the first half he consistently won the ball against Vidic but had absolutely no support from his midfield (apart from the jogging Malouda and even Drogs wasn't going to lay off to him). Yes he was wrong to raise his hands but the ref took the cowards way out - even Ray Houghton, who hates Drogba and Chelsea with a passion, said it was not a sending off offence - he and his linesmen were a complete disgrace tonight. I don't know what will happen in the summer but after all the sh*t that has gone on in the club I saw tonight a team that did us Chelsea supporters proud, even in defeat we are Chelsea. I haven't felt this low since McCredie left and we got relegated but I also haven't felt this proud since we recaptured the European Cup Winners Cup under Vialli. Its time that we sorted out our management, our players and our future and its time I went to bed. Forget the first sentence, I'm proud not pissed off... Keep it blue people, we'll be back next season...

That was unbelievable, to actually take the scouse scum with the wrong* team, pass them off the park for 50 minutes, give them the midfield for 30 minutes and then to come back and blow them off the Bridge in extra time...I couldn't have dreamt it better. Drogba was as good tonight as he was bad last week (thanks for the pep talk Rafa). When we played footy for the first 50 minutes we looked unbeatable, short passes, waiting for a gap - almost Barcelonaesque. Just a pity that we let them back into the game but then again, it made the winning even sweeter... *I would have played the same 11 that started on Saturday. I still think we need Essien in midfield for the final but I ain't going to argue now...

You mean Cole off for Kalou??? Malouda could have gone off as well, no-one would have noticed. I fear Essien could be playing full back again next week, can't see Grant dropping Maka, Lamps or Ballack...

No i said JT was fould for both the first 2 goals mate. Woodgate was doing a gym horse vault on JT, and Berbatov had his hand FIRMLY planted into JT's back. I'm not really blaming anyone for last night. I just wanted to vent my anger at these 3 in particular as they were playing the whole 90 minutes of both the 4-4 games, thats all. And yes i know supporters in the ground are best placed to give an opinion, but that does not necessarily mean it is more valid. Make up your f**cking mind... Ricci has been our most consistent defender this season. Paolo has not been helped by being passed over for Belletti who is the worst excuse for a defender that I have seen since, well Ashley bloody Cole...

Great performance all round. Lamps and Ballack really motored in midfield, Kalou had one of his better games, JC was superb and Carlo showed us why he's the second best keeper in the Premiership. But (I've been following Chelsea since the late sixties, so there's always a but) I can't help feeling Grant missed a trick by not putting Anelka on alongside Drogba once we were three up. Unless of course, he doesn't intend playing them together at all and rotating them for the rest of the season...

Surely the question should be, is Malouda better than Sinclair? I think Sinclair has done everything that has been asked of him and he deserves a decent run-out in the team. What is the point of having such a good youth/reserve set-up if you ignore the players that are coming through and just buy established players as a stop-gap. And why are young players from an overseas league (Alex, Mikel) deemed so much better than the young players coming through the Chelsea ranks (Mancienne, Jimmy Smith, Shaun Cummings)? Are we just going to pay lipservice to our youths or will be be willing to give them a decent chance? So many questions, probably because I've just got back from the pub...

The arrival of Ten Cate will have major implications for some players - he is very loud and used to getting his way. He doesn't take players aside for a quiet word nor does he try and gently boost their confidence. He wades in with both feet and if a player isn't doing what he should he will quickly know all about it. From what I've heard he can be a bit of a bully on the training pitch, that might benefit some players but not others. And where does his appointment leave Clarkey? Even we can't afford to have two first team coaches. The way I see it is Roman is trying to give us a more European managerial set-up. Grant will become Director of Football, a manager (Rijkaard, Hiddink?) will be brought in and Ten Cate will be first-team coach with Arnesen looking after development. Whether that sort of structure will suit an English Premier League team is difficult to say, it works very well at the likes of Barcelona but can it work here? Its certainly not a structure that Jose would work with, too much power is taken away from the manager/coach and it also means that Roman can more directly influence - through Grant - what goes on on the pitch. As Mao might have said, we live in interesting times....
